Gene and Georgetti is Chicago's original steakhouse since 1941. This family-owned establishment housed in Chicago's third oldest building serves the finest prime-aged steaks and chops, pastas, & signature dishes invented here such as The Garbage Salad and Chicken alla Joe. Our curated wine list originates from our roots in Lucca, Tuscany, Italy - we concentrate on Italian varietals that complement our classic Italian steakhouse menu.

Securely processed credit card info is required to secure a reservation. No-shows or cancellations within 48 hrs will be charged $25 pp.
As a reminder we do have a 15 minute grace period to honor your reservation, past that time your reservation will be forfeit.

Valet parking after 3pm is $15 cash.

Our dress code is Smart Business/Cocktail Chic - you never know who you might see at G & G!

    Seated promptly, service and staff were great, drinks were good and food was good although the tomahawk steak was pricey and not what I expected. The meat was somewhat chewy and one end was over cooked

    Even with a reservation we waited to be seated over 45 mins. I ordered chicken vesuvio and couldn’t eat it because it was very salty so we sent it back. By the time I got my meal my husband was done with his. We had to ask for bread which came almost until dessert time. We will definitely not go back, over price for the food which is not quality food and also the service was not great at all.

    We came here for our anniversary. Everything was wonderful! Our server was very knowledgeable and attentive! Food was amazing as usual. Will be coming back!

    Took my sons here last night for our annual steak dinner. Angelo and the servers were just incredible. THE BEST I’ve ever experienced. Period. I want to give the restaurant a 5 but we’ve been to most of the top steakhouses in Chicago and there were a few things that didn’t meet the mark here last night. Our mash potatoes were cold, my medium steak was medium rare, they covered my steak in bordelaise sauce when I asked for it on the side, no Mac and cheese, spinach or thick cut bacon on menu. Staples of a steakhouse. To the contrary what makes this place unique is the casual dress of the patrons. If you like a high quality foood experience but maybe don’t enjoy wearing proper attire to the restaurant this place is for you. A great mix of your neighborhood bar and an old time steakhouse. Chicago at its finest. Wouldn’t put this restaurant ahead of places like Chop House, Swift and Sons, RPM (my personal favorite) but the young boys gave it a 9/10 and raved about Angelo and their experience so win win for all!

    Fantastic experience. May be the best meal and service I have ever had. 4 filets with broccolini and penne pasta sides were perfect. The tiramisu was amazing. It is my wife’s favorite and she said it was the best tiramisu she has had. Loved the ambiance and character of the restaurant. Our server was absolutely fantastic.

    This place is epic! Full of Chicago history and the best steaks around. Our waiter Antonio was fantastic and helped make our night memorable. Pasta is to die for and made in-house.
