I have been to Gibson's for special occasions and for meetings. My experience on 11/24/24 did not measure up to those previous experiences.

Wonderful experience! Our server, Carl, was spectacular. He made an already exceptional experience perfect! The food is excellent, the wine list is exceptional, and the service is extraordinary

Worst part of the experience was the steak steak, the meat had gone bad and had a foul smell. This was confirmed by our waiter. Salad and the sweet potato we're just funny for such a restaurant at these prices. Best part was the ice cream. Service is also great

Todo estaba muy rico, muy buen servicio por parte de nuestro mesero. Las guarniciones son muy bastas y los platos fuertes estaban muy ricos, 100% recomendado pero si sugiero reservar porque siempre está lleno

John was excellent. Quick service with drinks, but didn’t rush us with our courses. Everything was cooked perfectly and was delicious. A definite place to revisit

Sadly I cannot leave a good review. We ate here in 2019 and it was the best experience and then this year on a return trip to Chicago we were so excited. However, the experience was a disaster from start to finish!! Their wood floors were SO SLICK and the hostess was booking it to seat us and I slipped and fell hard striking my head on a chair as I hit the floor. I would like to say it was great from there.. but we were sat and no server came to our table. I had to get the attention of one and ask if we had a server as we had a show to get to across town after our meal. He took our order and told us that their chef leaned “rare” so my daughter was encouraged to get her filet Med Well to ensure a Med with a pink center. When her steak arrived it was, in fact, Med Well… grey and no real true pink. We had to send it back a second time because they brought it with a mushy red center… Med Rare and then when they took it back it came back well. So we tried a third time and it was still leaning Med Rare but she needed to eat so she ate around the edges. Both her filet and my rib eye were also quite charred tasting on the outside… although they DID manage to get mine Medium. The server stopped checking on us either because a manager had taken over on the steak or he felt he wouldn’t get a tip so why try??? Either way… I had to flag a bus boy to get another Diet Coke and we didn’t even try dessert. It was the MOST DISAPPOINTING planned nice meal I have ever had! The manager did give me his card to let him know if anything happened with my injuries but I am just sore and have a nice goose egg and tender spot on my head where it hit the chair leg and my neck and back are tight so… no worries on that… but I can’t help but see it was a foreshadowing of the disaster our meal turned out to be. Next visit to Chicago we will try another steak house for sure. Gibsons just isn’t the same as our first experience.. that much is clear.
