Lovely food, drinks and service. But our two top was way too close to the other diners. Felt like we were having dinner with people on both sides of us. Everyone seated there had to move their tables to get in or out of the bench seat. Not enjoyable.

The food was absolutely incredible. Small portion sizes do not a ton for what you pay. The tables are also very small and close together.

Food was great as expected. Server was a little slower than we like. The music was a little loud but maybe we are just getting old.

I had high expectations for The Girl and the Goat, but my experience was nothing short of disappointing. The portions were absurdly small, the steak arrived cold, and somehow, they managed to mess up chicken—it was disgusting. The pork belly? Overcooked and tough, nearly inedible. The only redeeming aspects of the meal were the chickpea fritters and the Manhattan cocktails, which were genuinely enjoyable. But one drink can’t salvage an overall terrible dining experience. To make matters worse, we spent nearly $300 for a subpar meal, and our server seemed completely oblivious to our dissatisfaction. This was, without a doubt, the worst meal I’ve had in Chicago—or frankly, anywhere else. Chicago is known for its incredible food scene. Honestly, you could go anywhere else and have a better experience. The Girl and the Goat does not live up to the hype. Save your money and your appetite for a restaurant that delivers on both food and service. Do not recommend.

Mussels were delicious and our server was attentive and gave excellent recommendations. Her name was Kona. However the plates started to pile up quickly and as more were being dropped and we had to prompt the food runner to take them back. The pig face also wasn’t our favorite. While conceptually it sounded great, it was just so overwhelmingly fatty with no balance. Overall we weren’t wowed with this place and I’ve been meaning to try Stephanie’s restaurant for a very long time.

My wife and I had a quick getaway to Chicago for her birthday. OpenTable booking made it simple to make reservations and any changes. Heads-up, parking will be a challenge so I recommend using valet! Make a reservation ahead of time to guarantee seating. The staff were very great at anticipating the wait time and so we did for 30 min since we arrived earlier. We were seated at the chef’s table which neither of us expected, and was a treat to experience. My wife enjoyed every bit of the good chaos in the kitchen and watching Ted & Kishaun (apologies for typo), prep the food with passion. Service was great all the way around and all the staff were attentive - kudos! The food, this is by far the highlight of the night and the trip! Flavor at its fullest and the portions are ample for two. We had the best empanadas to date, the skirt steak was a hit, and the pork belly was delish. Wrap dinner with apple pie is a a treat on its own. Thank you for making our trip and birthday celebration a memorable one.
