Outstanding food, especially the crispy octopus, and service in interesting surroundings. It was worth taking the extra time to view the art glass exhibits.

Our meal was excellent. I started with oysters and my wife tuna tartare; both were very good. For the main course I had a ribeye and my wife quail. The ribeye had a delicious sauce, and my wife raved about the quail. Our server was pleasant and very attentive without hanging over us. This was our second visit and very likely will return again when we are in Norfolk.

Glass Light continues to be a great place for innovative food served by knowledgeable staff. All four dishes we had were uniquely done and specially presented. Hats off to the chef and his team. Add in the glass artwork and you have an absolutely unique place for a special event or just a rewarding night out.

We have been huge fans of Glass Light since it opened right before the pandemic. Food, ambience, drinks, staff, museum-quality glass… all have been superb. This time, we got to stay at the hotel (an in town staycation for us) courtesy of a Christmas gift certificate from our daughters. This only enhanced the overall experience. We had eaten at the restaurant right after Tichafa took over a year or so ago as executive chef. He has now reconstructed the menu and much of the kitchen operation. Every dish we tried was excellent. We sat at the kitchen counter and enjoyed watching the deftly orchestrated team at work: O.B. and Jeffrey were the Sous Chefs and we had a great chat with Jeffrey towards the end of the evening. We lucked out to have Katie as our server and we made firm plans to sit at one of her tables the following night. Hunter and his team at the bar (Clay and Stefan both with brand new as yet not unveiled signature drinks that were wonderful) rocked again. On our second night, Tichafa surprised us sending out a cheese board and then stopping by our table to chat. (He also surprised us with a dessert at the end of the evening.) Everything was perfect again. As hotel guests, we also enjoyed low key but delicious breakfasts at the restaurant. We will keep coming back!

Preset menu- which we knew- was not very much of a wow given the price point. Long waits between courses. Understand it was Valentine’s Day and busy- however this was a planned menu/dinner service. Small portion sizes- not very filling.

Just know you’re eating in a lobby of a hotel. It’s bright and noisy. Which is fine if that’s what you’re going for. Food was good. Some dishes better than others. Desserts left a lot to Be desired. We tried two.

I had the mushroom risotto. The meal price was about $30. The portion size was about $10. The $20 burger my dinner date had was barely average. The searing was uncomfortable in that the bench along the windows is too short for the table. Service was excellent: attentive, polite. It was a disappointing meal.
