   Our favorite restaurant since we moved here in 2016. New ownership has kept the excellent standards. Not an empty table last night…totally understandable. Our friendly waiter Stanley is still there! My monkfish selection was perfect as was my wife’s Calamari appetizer. The wine list has multiple options reasonable priced. The hostess and part owner Laura really has the expertise to present a top notch dining experience. We will return on a monthly basis since we like to support local businesses and in my opinion this is a premier dining establishment in the Asheville area. Reservations are highly recommended.

   This place is by far the best dining experience in the area. There are a lot of restaurants in the AVL area, but it’s Weaverville’s best kept secret. The food the service the ambiance, the wine and of course -deserts.. all top notch and all delicious! My recommendation: do not hesitate to eat here.

   We decided to try this place after driving by a few times, we arrived and was seated right away. My husband likes to ask the waiter what their favorite dish is. The waiter was very knowledgeable and recommended a few things. We ordered a cocktail before then they brought us the garlic rolls delicious would have ate more but didn’t want to ruin our meal. We decided to share the apple and prosciutto salad I could have at the whole it was so good! My husband had the trout and I ordered the shrimp dish except with the whole made fettuccine waiter recommended. My husband could have licked his place and mine was also delicious. We had the chocolate molten cake for dessert while we finished our red wine every thing was top notch we will be back!!

   First time dining with new owners. We will be back! The calamari was done to perfection. Light and crispy. Shrimp with pesto and pasta delicious. Perfectly cooked. My husband enjoyed his ricotta gnocchi and duck sausage. Was pleased to see the restaurant filling up as we were leaving. This restaurant is a wonderful asset to Weaverville. Rachel was our server and she willingly went back to ask questions of the kitchen when we had some requests. We will be back.

   The original owners sold Glass Onion 2 months ago. This was our first time since the new management and new chef. Ambiance remains the same; service was friendly, knowledgeable and efficient. Some menu items were the same idea but different recipes, ie., the coconut cake was more dense and less moist. Some items were new. We preferred the previous chef/recipes as more flavorful and better balanced eg., we thought the cannelloni was very salty and we noticed the woman at the table next to us ate less than half of hers so perhaps she agreed. I hope this is still a shake down period for the new management as this was one of our favorites and we visited every time we came to our vacation home in the Asheville area. Our most recent experience was fine but not the 5 star experience to which we were accustomed.

   Locals from Fairview and our first time at the glass onion. Met some wonderful cousins from out of town. Started with the pear and beet salad, which was delicious. Then of course we had to share an order of the wonderful fries. I had the trout and substituted kale for the side dishes. They also made a gluten-free for me. My husband had a ribeye which he says was one of the best he’s ever had. My cousins had the ravioli in the same and they loved it. The place is small and loud and I think we might’ve been the loudest of all. Interesting artwork on the walls and a real fast pace place. Will definitely be back.

    Lively crowd, lovely ambiance. Food very good. Always a nice experience! They need to do something about the garish harsh white lights over the bar, however. Kinda spoils the mood. Other than that it’s a great restaurant!
