At Hawker, Chef's Jeff Merkel and Leah Steduto spotlight their naturalistic worldview with beautifully composed plant-based small plates, cocktails, and a thoughtfully curated list of vegan wines.

Located in Kensington Market, the cozy dining space features an earthy, palette of dark wood and moss. A picturesque, romantic back patio is naturally decorated with ivy. A front patio lets you enjoy the lively sights and sounds of the market.

All reservations have a 15 minute grace period. Please call us if you are arriving later than 15 minutes. Your table will be reserved for 1 hour 45 minutes for parties of 1-2; 2 hours for parties of 3-6; 2 hours 30 minutes for parties of 7 or more. If arriving late, we may not be able to extend your seating time if there are reservations scheduled after your allotted timeframe.

Please note, an 18% gratuity is automatically added to the bill for groups of 6 or more.

Delicious vegan meal, one of the best in the city. A bit more expensive but the plating and food combinations are gourmet level. I went during winterlicious and highly recommend you give this place a try.

We loved our experience at Hawker! Went there for winterlicious, and got to try so many amazing dishes. Our faves were the “Summer” and “Starry Night”. The service was great, and they were very attentive and friendly. Loved that the dishes and concept of the restaurant were explained. I would recommend reserving a table as it’s a smaller place, but very cozy. The ambience is nice and very cute! Would definitely come back again.

AMAZING, and imo not rated high enough. The actual food is top notch. Their non-alcoholic beverages (especially a chai) are top notch. Flavours are great. Don't sleep on dessert. Service was a little lacking... we actually wanted to order another round of drinks, but after 10 minutes of trying to catch a waiter, gave up (they spent a lot of the time in the back room). That said, tiny restaurant, very reasonably priced, food punches well above its weightclass.

What an amazing restaurant! Everything was perfect. Not only the food was delicious but also beautiful. The servers and chefs were incredible with their service, the music was delightful. Wow, ver much recommend this place!

Hawker has great presentation to their food and decor; the atmosphere and vibes were great. It would have been nice to see that level of attention focused on the practicality of the plating. Visually, the food was stunning. Practically, broth in a flat plate didn’t make sense. There was no way to scoop it (despite that being the best component). The salad components worked well in theory, but they weren't balanced (too many leaves, not enough variety of textures/tastes) The flavor components sounded more interesting on the page, looked more intetesting on the plate, then they actually tasted. They ended up being underwhelming and would have benefited from more experimentation. Pricing was alright and small plates worked well with the style of dining. It was worth a try not a revisit.

7 course Brunch was delicious - complex tapas that were easy to share between 2 people Staff & kitchen were willing and mostly able to accommodate our 9 year old dining partner’s desire have flavours separated and simple.
