Located in the heart of Gramercy in the restored Assembly Hall of the landmarked United Charities Building, Hawksmoor is a steak restaurant that celebrates all-natural, pasture-reared, and traditionally dry-aged beef. Our beef is seasoned simply with sea salt and cooked over live-fire charcoal. Our seafood is locally and sustainably sourced from northeastern waters and we use small-farm produce whenever possible. On Sunday afternoons Hawksmoor keeps with the tried-and-true British tradition and features a Sunday Roast.

Completing our offerings are award-winning cocktails, including New York City's coldest martini, and a carefully curated wine selection. The restaurant houses 150 in the dining room and 35 in the bar area. There are also two private dining rooms that can hold 12 people and serve exclusive, family-style menus.

Sunday Roast
Multiple dates available
Sundays at Hawksmoor are all about our Sunday Roast: all-natural, dry-aged, slow-roasted Rump served with crispy beef dripping potatoes, Caraflax cabbage and carrots, gigantic Yorkshire puddings, lashings of bone marrow & onion gravy and the option for a side of cauliflower cheese or slow-roasted bone marrow and onions. Sunday Roast dates back to the 15th century where large joints of meat were roasted on a spit over an open fire; to achieve a similar flavor, we start ours on our charcoal grill and finish them in the oven. Many who've had a Sunday Roast equate it to a Thanksgiving dinner – a comforting, filling meal that is best in the company of loved ones. And, should a Bloody Mary, or two, be consumed alongside it, who are we to judge?

Everything was great except our filet arrived medium rare and not medium. Not a big deal but ... I still find it odd that this restaurant doesn't seem to remember its repeat customers.

Had an excellent lunch experience at Hawksmoor. From the moment I walked in until I left, service was impeccable. It goes without saying that the food was amazing. Hawksmoor has become one of my guilty pleasures while visiting NYC. It’s always nice to return to a place where you know you’ll be treated to an all around wonderful experience.

Excellent all around. My second time. Issues: my vodka soda with fresh lime juice came out with only vodka and no lime juice or soda. The server then asked if I would like to add soda from the bottle of pellegrino we had on the table. I said no. He asked if I would like club soda from the bar and I said yes. A teeny tiny carafe of soda was delivered to the table. I ended up having to supplement with our pellegrino. The issue of course is that I think it was inappropriate to ask me to use pellegrino we had on the table which I am being charged for to put in a mixed drink I’m also being charged for. Second issue: Mains came out missing one. The busser had no clue. 5 minutes later our server comes out and asks if we received that missing main, which we had not. A few minutes later that arrived. Last item: our server did not write our order down. As he recited it back to us it was 50 percent incorrect. I corrected him and it was still incorrect. Third time he got it. Write it down. Why do servers insist on using their memories, which half the time they mess up? These are all attention to detail items. In a restaurant like this these mistakes should not happen.

The server was great, and the food was better. I would go back just for the sour negori. The sommeliers made the night. They were out of my first choice, and I am so happy they were. The replacement was far better than anything I would have picked.

Such an amazing dining experience. We have been here 3 times and each time is just as consistently wonderful as the last! Five star service, the perfect length and spacing of a fantastic meal!
