Located within The Retreat at Artesian Lakes resort and conference center, one hour north of downtown Houston, Hilltop is open for dinner Fridays and Saturdays from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. The main dining room overlooks a lake and the woods beyond it, two private rooms are available for events, and the adjacent herb garden provides a gorgeous setting for weddings. Special events include Valentines and New Year's dinner, and Easter, Mother's Day, Father's Day, and Thanksgiving lunch buffets. Reservations are required at 832-397-4008.
Weekend Lovers Packages at the resort include all weekend meals plus breakfast and a picnic basket on Saturday.

They closed without informing me and cancelled my reservation. We showed up expecting a nice steak dinner after a long day of hiking and fishing only to discover the place was dark and empty. We were staying in a cabin with limited food that we had packed and had no backup plan. Its not like we could just go somewhere else, in the middle if nowhere. My family was extremely disappointed!

We had reservations on a Friday at 6:15. Wasn’t crowded at all but filling up when we left. It’s very relaxing and beautiful there. Would definitely recommend it!

The Hilltop Restaurant needs to update their website to advise you they no longer have the Friday night Seafood Buffet. The food was very good, however, they really need to hire some additional wait staff as now that they must provide food service, they do not have sufficient staff to support all of the guests who now must be served.

I miss the buffet and was very disappointed that the bread pudding ran out. Our waitress had too many tables. More waitresses or having some of the others do more would help.

Since their chef left and the new one came they are not having the seafood buffet and that was not on their website. They had a menu with each of the buffet items on it but the problem was you had to buy each one separately. I will not go back

Really enjoyed the New Orleans Seafood buffet. Every dish was well prepared and seasoned just right. The lake front setting to the dining room made it even better.

AMAZING! The place is beautiful in a very calm, romantic setting on the water. The service was outstanding! But the real surprise was the food! BEST buffet meal we’ve ever had! Fresh salads, fresh HOT entrees, numerous choices, exquisite desserts! Will go back again - and again - and again, well, you get my point.

Outstanding as always. Service, food quality and atmosphere. We took my parents for there 60th wedding anniversary and they really enjoyed it.

We live close but have never eaten here. We will definitely be back. Great food and love the scenery out the dining room windows. So peaceful.
