Located in the historic Fulton Market district of Chicago’s West Loop neighborhood, il Carciofo is a Roman Italian restaurant drawing inspiration from the restaurants and markets in one of Chef Joe's favorite cities, Rome.     The signature appetizer and suppli are surprising and so flavorful and the pastas are all delicious. Chef Flamm’s halibut is also wonderful! The vibe here feels special enough for an event but warm enough for a Wednesday family meal. Love it!

    Felt very rushed; hostess kept walking over to the table area checking to see how quickly we would be finished. We arrived for our reservation ten minutes late and the hostess immediately said "you only have two hours from the time of your reservation". not a good way to start a dinner

    Great experience at the chef’s counter! Everything from start to finish was really tasty. Pizza is legit and a nice switch up from typical tavern or neopolitan style. Pasta was cooked perfectly. Great value too!! Place was packed 30 min after opening

    Can’t get over the amazing service. Our waiter was amazing and very attentive. He made the entire experience that much better. We sat at the chefs table and they were open to talking with us while cooking. The food was so fresh and tasted like we were in Rome!

    Went for a birthday. Lovely experience overall. Cocktails and wine selections were excellent. Pastas and Pizza are definitely the standouts. Opted for the saltimbocca and that was the only miss for us, also the only main we got. The dish was dry, even with all the sauce on the plate and the portion size was unexpected for the cost. Glad I went with a group that allowed for an ample selection of dishes to try a lot. Would definitely go back.

    Excellent experience and the food was amazing! We had a college roommate weekend here in Chicago and everyone in the group was thrilled with our meal! The carbonara was incredible and the wine pairing was excellent as well! Our server was very knowledgeable and we had a great evening! Wil definitely be coming back!

    Great food and service was amazing. Server knew the menu forward and backward. The only recommendation is to make more Spirit Free cocktails.
