   Great waitress and a very nice atmosphere. Mushroom soup was fabulous. Baked shrimp was not good. Tough, maybe overcooked? Kinda like scampi. We were expecting something fabulous but we didn’t experience that. Will try again though because sometimes you just order the wrong thing.

   We ate outside on the covered patio and it was a chilly evening. We requested that they turn on the electric heat at our table. It was not working, probably because of poor maintenance. We mentioned it a few times but no one seemed to care. It certainly detracts from the experience if one is shivering during the meal. This experience tainted the meal for us and our guests. And yes, we requested to move inside but couldn’t. I suggest they have all of their heaters serviced. At the end of the meal we were presented with a political brochure with a long list of what seafood to avoid because of political reasons. I’m not sure I need a lecture on what to not eat and have to have the establishment signify their superior virtue.

   Sorry to hear your experience was not a good one. Our heaters are disconnected in mid March because the temperatures are more moderate. Our maintenance team does a great job maintaining the 1940's built home. We tend to be booked inside most of this time of year, so unfortunately there was no option to move inside. You did not receive a "political" brochure. That is terrible of you to say, we do not add politics to our business decisions, nor do we allow politics to interfere with our work. That was simply a guideline on what seafood is a "better choice" for the planet and sustainable from Seafood Watch at the Monterey Bay Aquarium. Obviously you do not care about that though. No lectures, we just care about our food system here.

   Dinner was fantastic! Wish I could have tried more things on the menu. Love the setting in an old house. Sat on the patio, which was perfect. Service was great. I’d come back every time I visit Sarasota. Just a short, easy walk from downtown.

   Phenomenal and creative cuisine. First time dining here and we were blown away by the excellence in food and service. Shared the Parmesan Beignets and the Roasted Mushrooms. Then had the redfish and the famous pork chop. For dessert, the dark chocolate torte. The food is thoughtfully and imaginatively prepared with fresh, sustainable ingredients. Important tip is to blend the flavors together, not eat each ingredient solo. For example, the pork chop was delicious on its own but when it was eaten combined with a bit of potato, vegetable, and sauce….. it was elevated to a new flavor explosion. Likewise with the redfish and also the mushroom roast and even the dessert. The chef judiciously chose what flavors to blend to bring out the best in each. Gifted!! Service was polished and friendly. Wine by the glass was a small but thoughtful selection. The restaurant is a small older bungalow with outdoor seating and small separate rooms inside. We found it charming. One of the best meals I’ve had in a very long time! Bravo!
