Built in 1880, The Inn was at one time a brothel, until it was raided by federal officers. The Inn was a favorite site of cowboys and teamsters, who appreciated the fine foods and jovial atmosphere.
Over 100 years later, the Inn at Tres Pinos is now a San Benito County Historical Landmark, carefully restored by owner, Mike Howard. The ambiance is intimate, rustic, and elegant. It’s country with a touch of class, and decorated in a style that is a reflection of Mike’s personal interest. Mike's grandfather taught him the the art of fly-fishing, and every year the family still fishes together at the Big Wood River in Sun Valley, Idaho. Mike married Mary along the Big Wood River in 2010, and the Inn has become a true family affair. Mike’s philosophy is “Keep it fresh and keep it simple.” His staff is personally hand picked and will make every effort to meet your expectations. The Inn at Tres Pinos is the only four-star restaurant in San Benito Country.

    My husband had the prime rib and he said it was one of the best he has ever had. I had Beef Wellington and it was amazing. Drinks, dessert, service, everything was top notch as usual

    We struggle to hear the l o n g description of the specials. Only one of the 4 of us could hear or understand the quiet and slow speech of the waitress. After ordering it took 90 minutes for our entrees to arrive. It was a busy night, however another party arrived after us and got their food much earlier than we did. Not sure when we would have been served had we not asked another waitress to send our waitress to the table. Our waitress didn’t come by at that time but the neighboring waitress reported back that our food was on its way. Five minutes later our waitress brought out two entrees, went back for another, and after a few more minutes we got the last one. Thank goodness the food was good. Rice was lukewarm but everything else was delicious.

    New Years Eve dinner was exceptional. We had the Beef Wellington, so damn 👍. Service was great, the Inn was packed but everything went smoothly, everything was outstanding. Kudos to the staff!!

    We've been going to Tres Pinos for about 10 yrs now and we've never been disappointed. Great food, ambiance and service. We don't mind driving the distance for a great meal,!

    It is always an exceptional experience at the INN. The meal was delicious and had a perfect balance of flavor. The entire waitstaff is delightful and attentive, and their friendly demeanor and genuine care create a warm and inviting atmosphere.

    My husband order their Cioppino and stated it was the best he has had. He was disappointed to hear that they only serve it on Christmas Eve.

    Dinner here was a real treat. It had been many, many years since we were there, and we decided to make a trip over to eat there again. From the moment we walked into the cozy atmosphere, we knew it would be worth it. First class service at the bar and in the dining room and the food was fantastic. We will be back... wish they were open for lunch!
