   We were a group of old colleagues catching up after not seeing each other for 20 years. This was a central location that was on transit. The location and parking lots were super busy but manageable due to the time of year. The restaurant was a bit noisy and I am glad we were upstairs as it was easier to talk and catch-up. The food and service was amazing and our waitress was awesome.

   We had an overall great evening, starting with a complimentary glass of Prosecco upon arrival. The food was slightly delayed, and we waited 15-20 minutes for dessert. The cider selection could use some improvement, but it was a solid dining experience overall.

   The overall experience was mid. Our waitress was very nice and accommodating for some of the downfalls we were experiencing. The food took 35 minutes to come out from the kitchen and when it came to our table it was cold. The restaurant wasn’t busy so we were confused as to why this happened. I’ve been to many other locations in the GTA and never experienced this. I don’t think we’ll be going back to this location again.

   I have been there about 5 times previously. I always order their steak which I enjoy. Yesterday the steak was off. There was a terrible aftertaste. I tried a few bites, but had to spit out each bite on my plate as it tasted bad. I didn’t swallow a single bite of the steak. Also, on the menu it said that it came with loaded crispy mashed potatoes. I asked for plain mashed potatoes instead, as I always have done in the past. I received what appeared to be fried spring rolls. They were filled with mashed potato. I have never received this before. Our waiter didn’t deliver our food and never came over to our table to check on us until my companion had finished his meal. I had barely touched mine. I told him it wasn’t what I had ever had previously at the same Joey’s in the past and it was terrible. A manager came over and I felt that she dismissed my concerns and took no accountability. Interestingly, my companion ordered salmon last night which came with normal mashed potatoes - just like what I asked for but didn’t receive. I thanked the manager for coming over to find out what the problem was, but felt like she didn’t address the problem. I specifically told my waiter that I wanted plain mashed potatoes which I have had there in the past. Someone messed up my order. She told me that perhaps there was a problem with my specific steak or the way one person in the kitchen seasoned it. I have never had such a terrible steak as last night and had cramps later on at night. The manager offered me plain mashed potato, but nothing about the steak. My friend was in a hurry so I wasn’t going to sit and eat mashed potatoes long after he had finished his meal. I was offered a dessert. I don’t want dessert. What I wanted was dinner, which I didn’t get. I got my bill. I was charged the full amount for my steak, approximately $40 for the steak. I was the one to recommend Joeys - for the steak. That was a MIS-steak. I think my bill should have been adjusted. I’m disappointed.

   Great server! Thoughtful and attentive but not omnipresent. Water filled continuously. One guest was late- she checked in to make sure we didn’t need anything in the meantime. We all had salad bowls with chicken- Mediterranean was awesome.

    My family and I have always liked coming to Joey’s for dinner once in a while. In addition, each of us often chooses to meet up with friends at Joey’s because we like it so much. We have always had a great if not exceptional time. Unfortunately this wasn’t the case last night and I am hoping it’s because of the large number of people eating out this Christmas season. The place was definitely a lot fuller than normal for a Tuesday evening. We all found that the music was way too loud and so we had difficulty maintaining our conversations. The service was also not up to the standards that we have become accustomed to. We hope this was a one time deal and we will be willing to come back to try it again.
