More bar than a place to eat. Snack food mostly. Weird cocktails - Manhattan with a big lump of ice in the middle of the glass with an orange slice.

We came here for a start to a birthday evening. Many of these things were purely circumstantial, but nonetheless frustrating attempted to order a drink was informed they were out of ingredients to make it. We ordered a charcuterie board and to entrées. The entrées came out before the charcuterie board and we were told the board was still being prepared. We had completed our entrées. The board still had not arrived. I politely went to the bar to inform them. We would no longer be needing the board and was met with pushback from the staff. They shared several details about management not showing up and the Chef being new. All of this would be completely understandable. If you presented it early on however it came to us as our evening devolved. It seems they should focus on their bar and dial back on the kitchen menu as most of this was created in a makeshift kitchen behind the coffee counter.

The place is beautiful. The decorations and setting are stunning. It was cool that they have an unlabeled back dining room. Felt exciting. The waiter was also super nice. I appreciated him. However the lobster roll was not worth it to me. It was small and the chips had an aftertaste that I wasn’t expecting. I was also hungry afterwards and the meal was $30. I will probably have to try them again for lunch but dinner didn’t feel worth the money. I wouldn’t come back for dinner.

Repeat experience, and it was just as great as the first! Smoked Trout Dip appetizer was out of this world. Liked it even better than the Crab Dip we had on our first visit, which was delicious as well. Lobster Roll is so fresh and wonderful! And we found out afterwards we can substitute the chips for other veggies they have. Pasta with cracked pepper (Cacio e Pepe) was amazing. Would love this with blackened shrimp! Great wine selections and tasty cocktails. Fabulous service and beautiful ambience. We’ll be back. Again. 😊

Tried to go for lunch and had an awful experience. We made a reservation but they don’t seem to honor them for lunch- when I tried to check in, the server told me seating was first come, first served at lunch. You’re supposed to order at the coffee bar so I stood in line for 10 minutes (very slow service) only to find out that they had run out of nearly everything on the menu. We ended up leaving and going to Loqui down the hall. Overall lunch at Joliet needs to be rethought by management- either take reservations and plan accordingly, or don’t offer them at lunch so diners’ expectations are appropriately set.

Very pretty room with lots of tables and good amount of seating at the bar, which is lovely stone lit from the underside. The place was pretty full and even though there were available tables, my friend & I decided to sit at the bar, which was empty when we walked in. The bar stools are comfortable. Nick, our bartender, was friendly, intuitive, and very knowledgeable about the wines. I was happy with the two I tried and they did indeed go very well with the Mezze plate, which my friend & I shared. All was delicious, and perfect for a light meal. Service was great, atmosphere was lovely, staff was friendly. We had a lovely time and will definitely be back.

Service was terrible- the attendant was very rude. It was 12:55pm and would not let me order breakfast! An the I tried to order 3 dishes and they where all out. I had to leave the restaurant with my friend to eat somewhere else.

Overall, a fun experience. The drinks were a bit pricey but delicious. Food was astounding. The service was good and I was impressed at how they handled the crowd.

BEST DRIP COFFEE IN LA!!! Seriously the best coffee I’ve had in LA. Brunch was absolutely delicious and the ambience is so unique and fun. The only reason they don’t get 5 stars across the board is due to the fact that they were severely understaffed on our visit. But everything else was great!
