   I had a phenomenal experience at Juniper and Ivy. I made a reservation for my wife’s birthday and once I got there they had valet service for 15$ which for Downtown SD isn’t bad at all. Upon arriving we waited at a very nice, comfortable lounge area by the bar while our table got ready. Once we were seated the server Andrew gave us greeted us phenomenally, remembered the request I made upon making the reservation and fulfilled it expertly. I had initially checked the restaurant’s menu online to have what I wanted to order planned and my only critique is that there was a good amount of menu items in the website that either weren’t available or had different prices however I still rated them 5 stars because all the issues I had related to the website were smoothly resolved by both the manager and the server which easily removed all potential problems both regarding price and the availability of menu items. The food was just as good as the service and I would highly recommend anyone visiting San Diego or looking for a quality dining experience. The price is on the high side but I refuse to call it expensive because the amount you pay is on par with the experience you receive and I will absolutely be dining there again in the future. In conclusion 10/10 to Juniper and Ivy and a special shoutout to the server Andrew and to Whatever manager was on the floor the night of 20Dec2024.

   The appetizers were amazing, and the entrees were okay but nothing special. For the price I would say I recommend giving it a try 100%. I will say that the service was okay, we ended up having 2 servers which were both very kind, but it did take quite long to order. For the price I was expecting better service, and they had run out off quite a few items but we did have a reservation on the later end of the day so I can understand that. What upset me the most was the environment, other workers were constantly side eyeing everyone. And I don’t know how else to say this other then it seemed everyone had a stick up their as*. I know it seems odd but I genuinely don’t think we were doing anything wrong, we weren’t being loud, obnoxious, or rude in any way. One of the waiters(not ours) even muttered something I would consider weird/rude, to us as he walked past our table which I thought was odd and unprofessional, because either say it directly to us or don’t say it at all. Overall the food was good and the price point is not terribly expensive for what your getting, and I would recommend people to give it a try strictly because of that, but I was disappointed with the experience.

   Unfortunately we didn’t feel comfortable at all. It was so loud from music and loud people we couldn’t even talk to each other. The food was very good . But the ambiance was terrifying for us.

   Besides being sat right next to the Restroom door while celebrating our wedding anniversary, The food and the service was outstanding staff is super friendly. Would definitely try to book a standard table next time
