After 18 years of service at Shokudo Japanese Restaurant and Bar on Kapiolani boulevard, we are excited to announce the introduction of Kaimuki Shokudo on 11th avenue. You can expect the same Shokudo essence and hospitality paired with a new exciting concept featuring fresh soba along with other delicious Japanese specialties. A very eclectic group of patrons. Families students friends and datenighters. Very welcoming atmosphere. Excellent attentive friendly service made for a lovely comfortable evening.

The food and drink was outstanding, but the service was terrible. The server just put the dishes on the table without identifying it, leaving it to us to figure out what it was and who ordered it.

Our waitress Chasity was so sweet, very efficient and informative of the menu. She made our experience comfortable and the food and drinks are always chefs kiss :)

Shokudo is a great restaurant to dine for lunch. I have dined there with friends and classmates several times. However, there was no monthly special today, which some of us were looking forward to, but we still all enjoyed our lunches. Thank you for the complimentary scoop of ice cream for our birthday lady. Service was fast and orders were accurate. Our server was very friendly and efficient.

Good food as always! Just note that the more crowded the restaurant is, the slower the food comes out, so factor that in when making a reservation.
