   It took 45 minutes for the kids' food to be served, and the excuse given was that the kitchen was running behind. However, when the food finally arrived, it was almost cold. On Valentine’s Day could have planned it better to accommodate people who already made the reservation

   It was Valentine’s Day and they were overwhelmed. Very nice people but forgot to come serve us, forgot to clear the dirty plates, forgot our flatware. You had to ask for all of it. Big hunk of cream cheese in my “salmon rillettes.” Salmon entree was way overcooked - requested “as the chef would prepare it”

   We ate at Katharine Brasserie last night for the 2nd time in 2 months. It is an attractive restaurant, like a traditional French Brasserie. Food here ranges from solid to very good indeed. I had the steak au poivre last night. The strip steak was very good but the sauce was very salty and not quite the traditional preparation. My wife had mussels frites and she was happy. Wines we ordered by the glass were $17 or $22 per glass and they were very good and lived up to the price. Service here is very spotty so this is a weak spot. I wanted to ask for some bread and someone wanted another drink but our server was honestly mostly nowhere to be found. Dinner was over $350 before tip for 4 people and we absolutely did not go crazy with drinks. I think that is a substantial tab and I would like very attentive service for that price. My wife probably won't want to return after 2 dinners that left us with mixed emotions.

   Delicious food and wonderful, prompt service! The price reflects this value - The food was well priced, but the drinks were a bit higher than expected

   This was our first time back since having a great experience over the holidays. We enjoyed great service by the same server, Kay, whom we requested. The food and drinks were excellent once again. I tried a new drink on the menu called the Sombre (Kettel One + Montenegro, Cranberry, Rosemary) and it was very good. Earthy but refreshing. I also tied the Banana Bread Pudding which was wonderful. While others in the family favored the delicious Chicken and Waffles, I had the Short-Rib Strata. It was very tasty, but really had only a hint of short-rib. Altogether a lovely time in a comfortable atmosphere with attentive service!

   Honestly it was really great, I was trying to think of a complaint on the food and the only thing I could say is I wish I had more! Everything was great-the seating/table was probably my least favorite part however it was definitely not enough to take away from the food!

    The ambiance was beautiful. Low lit with a fun gatsby vibe. It was a little too loud. Hard to hear conversation at the table. The food was very good. Best oysters I’ve had in NC. The wine was also very good. The dessert menu didn’t impress so we skipped that. I would recommend this dining experience!
