   Katya Vineyards is a wonderful romantic ❤️ dining experience. The restaurant is in dwntown Ocala. Very quiet, kind of subdued lighting. Joseph our server was quick and attentive, and had a good sense of humor. Started with a delicious mushroom soup, followed by beef short ribs, 😋 culminating in a salted caramel cheesecake. We split the whole meal and loved it. WE WILL BE BACK!!!!

   My dining experience at Katya Vineyards was a delight . . . up to a point! The restaurant is sophisticated, pleasant and comfortable, with excellent fixtures and beautiful details. The young lady who greeted me at the door was bright, and in a natty uniform. My server was also well-dressed, attentive, pleasant and knowledgeable about the menu. I chose the Spanish octopus & red polenta cake for an appetizer, and it was delicious. Particularly important to me were the many excellent choices of wine to enjoy with that appetizer (and the other food courses). However, when the server brought my entrée, it arrived with an unexpectedly loud, disturbing creature. Since that person [sic] finished the presentation at my table, I assume he was the chef. The problem was that he called me “boss-man.” What-in-the-world was that? An act of subjugation, a put down or some crass vernacular. No matter what it was, his choice of a salutation was the antithesis of everything else in Katya Vineyards. I managed to enjoy the entrée – scallops with seafood ravioli as I worked to relieve myself of the misplaced “boss-man” gibe. So, this is a mixed review. The staff at Katya Vineyards (with one exception!) were professional and pleasant. My meal was delicious, and the wine selections were excellent. Yet, be prepared for a dubious experience if the chef (if that’s who it was) emerges and calls you “boss-man.”

   Yes, it’s more expensive than other dinner places. Well worth the money- if you are looking for a fine dining experience and chef driven food! Chef Tony is amazing! The portions are much bigger than typical fine dining too. We had a wonderful meal, and the live piano created a beautiful atmosphere. The lobster bisque was sublime. The menu changes seasonally, we are already looking forward to going back.

   I love Katya. I am never disappointed when dining in this beautiful restaurant. The owners are always present and interact with their guests. I’m happy to have this restaurant for special occasions or just to stop in!

   Katya’s has made our anniversary special for the last five years. The food is second to none, absolutely outstanding! The chef makes a point to greet you and make sure your food is to your liking. The wait staff is attentive and personable. The ambiance in Katya’s is beautiful— just right for a night out. Highly recommend!

   This was our third visit to Katya Vineyards, the first in their new location. (I think it used to be a bar and the general vibe was an upscale bar with a restaurant attached.) From the first the service was excellent. It was Valentine's Day, so the staff was overworked and stressed, but their greeting was positive and genuine. The young man and young lady at the desk were cheerful and friendly. The food was really quite excellent. The chef (who made a point of greeting us after the meal asking for how we liked the meal) was skilled and innovative. I had the risotto with bacon, pistachios, truffles and beef tips (couldn't really taste the pistachios, but they were a subtle undercurrent) My wife had the seafood ravioli. Both were superb. The appetizer, grilled octopus, was very good, but would have benefited from additional char grilling. Personal opinion. The risotto could have used a little less salt. I think the bacon and pistachios added some additional salt and the dish would have benefited from less added in as a result. But still, it was excellent. The wine steward helped us out with excellent choices of wine after one of the bottles I selected was no longer available. All in all, a friendly and helpful staff, excellent chef, and nice setting, if a bit "energetic (hey, it was Valentines Day and all those sweet nothings being whispered added up!). Not inexpensive, for sure. But worth a visit when you want to experiment with innovative cooking. Will return.
