   AMAZING FOOD AND SERVICE! Beautiful remodel. Great menu. Outstanding service by server, busboy and hosts!!! Even valet terrific. Just can’t wait to go back!!!!

   The food was fantastic, but the service was abysmal. Granted, it was Valentine’s Day, so it was very busy. But we were barely checked on at our table, it took us 35 minutes once we ordered to receive our first course, we had to ask for water refills several times, and they entirely missed one of the items on my plate. They said they would check on it, and I never heard another word about it. My husband has a nut allergy, so we asked if there were nuts on the salad on his plate, and it took 15 minutes to receive an answer. Again, the food was amazing and delicious, but they really need to work out the service aspect. On a special night, we felt ignored and unimportant.

   Kestrel has the best venue in the Coachella Valley. The views are spectacular and the valet service is great. We had the Sea Bass and it was excellent.

   We went on Valentine’s Day with a 6:45 reservation. We arrived promptly and were told it was a half hour wait. The wife was not happy … 30 minutes later it was another 20 minutes. They had empty table but not enough servers. The staff did the best they could but it was somewhat disastrous and no one was happy. The dinner turned out to be fine but nothing special and the mood was ruined. I was really looking forward to it, disappointing.

   They outrageously over booked for Valentine’s day. Patrons with reservations were greeted with 30-45 minute waits. we finally found a seat at the bar. After a very long time we finally got drinks. We never were approached to give us a table, even though we had a reservation, we finally ordered a little bar food. It was an insane night, patrons and staff alike had a horrible experience. I’ve never experienced anything like it at a nice restaurant. They even had a pre-fixe menu for the night. We were told that they planned to turn all the tables each hour. On a special night and with that four course menu that never could have happened

   Requested table by Fireplace and followed up 2 days before reservation but still did mot have table reserved for me Service was slow because of Valentine’s dinner

   We had a reservation for 5:45 on Valentine’s Day. By 6:45, no one had come to our table to even take our drink order. We went and grabbed the manager to order, and half an hour later we still didn’t even have a drink. At 7:15 we walked out, alongside many other patrons who had experienced the same thing. The lobby was full of angry patrons. What a disaster.

    First time to try Kestrel. Went for Valentine's Day Dinner. My guess is that this is more of an after golf type/lunch restaurant. Staff was unorganized. We never had a server. Had 3 different managers take our orders and answer questions. Were told that a server had called in sick. When we originally gave our order which was a prix-fixe menu, I asked if they had a different dessert for my husband, as he does not eat chocolate. The manager seemed confused and just said "oh they come separate." Also, when I made the reservation on OpenTable, it asked if we wanted the Valentines Prix-Fixe menu or to continue to regular reservation. I chose regular reservation, but when we arrived, we were informed the only menu was the Valentines prix-fixe menu. All the tables around us were unhappy - not necessarily with the food, but it took forever to get the food. We arrived early for our 5:45 pm reservation and did not get our main until 7:45. At 7:30, we flagged someone down and asked about our food and she said "oh it says it was brought out." Obviously, we had not received it. Periodically, staff was walking around with food and asking tables if this was their food and most of the time, it was not. All in all, it seemed staff did not know what they were doing. In the end (before our dessert arrived), we flagged another person down (she also said she was a manager) and asked for our check, explaining that we were done and did not want the dessert. She was very nice and said this was not their standard of service and that they would take care of our meal. Hopefully, they will improve and we may take a chance and try again.
