Originally opened by Jane Vobe in 1772, this authentic reproduction public house serves up a transporting experience for the senses in Colonial Williamsburg. Everything is true to the time period at King’s Arms Tavern, from the fashion sported by servers to the pewter candlesticks—all adding to an air of colonial elegance. Inspired by 18th-century recipes, but with updates to suit 21st-century tastes, tuck in to a chophouse menu featuring prime rib, pork chops, and more.

ADA Accessible dining is available in the Purdie Kitchen. Please note this colonial building is separate from King’s Arms Tavern. Please check-in at the front, and our host will escort guests to the Purdie Kitchen.

The taverns are located in the Historic Area, and not on a public street. The Tavern is a short walk from the Tavern Parking lot which is on Francis Street.

Despite having a reservation, we still had to wait over 30 minutes to be seated. The waiting area was small, crowded, hot, and there were no seats to sit on while waiting.

We were celebrating my husband's 77th birthday after 3 funfilled days " bouncing " between Colonial Williamsburg and Christmas Town. The service was friendly but a bit uneven. We had the prime rib, duck, steak and " to stew a chote" pork shanks. Two in our party had peanut soup. All the food was good but pricey. Nice for a special occasion.

Amazing! The food was delicious, the live colonial music added greatly to the impact, and the information learned while in a quaint colonial setting was breathtaking!!!

Amazing ambience but hard to justify the price tag for mediocre food and service.

Typically I rave about King's Arms, but the Christmas dinner was not the best experience. The food was on par, but the service was not very good. We did not get any of the typical inpretations or shows that you typically do, and the waitresses were clearly frazzled and overworked. They were out of some things on the menu, which for a shortened menu is disappointing. For $90+ per person plus 20% gratuity, I'm not sure if would do it again. I think CW needs to ensure there are enough workers for these types of nights - I felt sorry for the staff.

Miranda was a pleasant server. The beef arrived much rater than ordered and portion way too big. House cabernet not great. Out of a dessert choice by time we arrived. Bread pudding not great but chocolate torte good.
