   Lovely meal and as always interesting menu. The service was pretty slow but not so much that it disrupted the dinner. And the waiters were quite professional.

   We stop here on our way South from Ohio at least 6 times a year. Fabulous food, friendly, best restaurant in the area. Love the staff and the menus is upbeat and wonderful. Love this place and highly recommend it if your looking for something beside a burger.

   Our anniversary dinner at Kounter was wonderful! I made a reservation for a high top table about 45 minutes prior, and when we arrived our table was adorned with a handwritten anniversary note and was signed by the chef. That was a special touch. Our server was attentive and friendly but still allowed us to enjoy our dinner without many interruptions. The food was incredible, and we both left full and happy! We’ll definitely be back!

   This is a hidden gem. Our first time visiting. The brunch choices are innovative, creative and delicious!! The service great and the history so moving. 10/10…we’ll be back!!!

   The cocktails came to the table one at a time and it was slow service. My husband and I ordered the oyster appetizer and the waitress was saying there were only 3 dozen left earlier, so I asked her to go to the kitchen and put that order in so perhaps we could have some. She stood at our table and kept rambling on for a couple of minutes. She finally went to the kitchen and came back and said they were out. BTW, this was a 6:00 reservation. We decided to order the chili shrimp and focaccia bread instead. The dish came out with two huge pieces of bread (about a quarter of a loaf total) sitting in the chili sauce with 6 shrimp. The chili sauce overwhelmed the flavor of the shrimp instead of enhancing the dish. The chili sauce tasted like it was straight from a bottle of hot sauce. Our friends had the mussels and said they were good. Our entree’s were meatloaf, lobster gnocchi, carolina trout, and scallops. The lobster was overcooked and dry and the meatloaf was even more overcooked and dry. My husband said the scallops were good, however the grits croutons were dry and overcooked. The trout lacked flavor and was overcooked as well. The bed of rice the first was served over was undercooked.

    Kounter is always exceptional when it come to food and service! It can’t be beat in Rock Hill. My favorite part is that every dish has such unique flavors. The only minor complaint I have is that I find the restaurant to be loud. It is a very open room with high ceilings, so sound travels. The noise level doesn’t deter me from enjoying a great dinner though!
