   Bougie, sceney, overpriced, poor service (they’re trying to squeeze as much money out of you as possible), club-style music (so loud it’s hard to hear each other) - other than that, good food but wayyyy too expensive - won’t be going back - not worth the price tag

   The food and service were top notch, although it is on the pricer side. I really enjoyed the winner and the monster squad - very flavorful. The lavender smoked fish was also super nice. For dessert, I got the lava cake which was okay - I wish they had more options for japanese style desserts.

   Great food and atmosphere. The music is a little bit loud for the dinner but a great place for having cocktails and enjoy the music.

   Everything was great, cocktails, food, DJ was amazing. The only thing was that it took 40 minutes to be seated at our table so we had to wait by the bar for a very long time even though we had a reservation and arrived on time.

   This place was insanely good! Probably second best sushi joint I’ve been to in DC. If you’re looking for cocktails + sushi this is your place. The only downside was we had to leave after about 90 minutes because our table time was up; we could have stayed for another hour, but good to allow other people to experience this place. It was super busy and super energetic with an exciting atmosphere. Will be back.

   I made a reservation at 8:30 and passed 9:10 we weren’t sit, service could have been better and more attentive, food was amazing, it made the long wait worth it

   Kyojin is one of the better dining experiences I’ve had in DC in 8 years of living in the area. The space is very unique and stylish, and feels more like you’re in New York than Georgetown. The food is quite good, drinks a bit expensive but together with the overall ambiance are worth it.

    Very good sushi at its core, but this restaurant definitely operates with FOMO as its main selling point. It wants you to buy their single bites that are overly expensive with the bells and whistles that don’t truly add anything to the experience. Covering sushi with uni, foie gras, Kobe beef, and/or gold does not actually make the sushi better. It’s just decadence for the sake of decadence. It’s designed to be a word of mouth hot spot, with a backbone of instagram posts. I would skip all of the over the top single bites that cost $35 each, and instead focus on the actual sushi. Their standard rolls and nigiri are actually incredibly good and are priced incredibly well. If you ignore the obvious attempts at creating FOMO you can find some of the best “modern” sushi in DC here. If you are a sushi snob though and only want traditional style nigiri in its simplistic form, do NOT go here. Overall, I will be back, but I’ll only be picking the standard sushi rolls.
