   Love to go to Landrace before we go to shows at the Tobin. Atmosphere is wonderful. Valet parking is easy. And servers are great. This time we had John, and he was awesome! The prime filet was delicious!! We'll definitely be back.

   We were not familiar with Landrace and normally have somewhat lower expectations for a hotel restaurant (Landrace is located in the Thompson hotel), but we were very pleasantly surprised by the dinner experience. My wife had the venison steak and I had the salmon with mole verde and both were excellent. The side of brussels sprouts was more than enough to share. The service was attentive without being intrusive. Oh, and they make a terrific dirty vodka martini...and will serve a side shot glass of olive brine if you want to make it "very dirty." We ate dinner earlier than usual because we had show tickets at the Tobin Center, a five-minute walk from the hotel. The restaurant is cognizant of the time constraints for show-goers and tailors their menu for those who need a quicker meal. The dining room was very quiet except for the piped in music, which at one point inexplicably switched from smooth jazz to not-so-smooth (and loud) hip hop. There were no diners that I would peg as being hip hop fans, including us, and I think the hostess recognized this fact and the music soon returned to the more pleasant, unobtrusive dining playlist. (My comment to her on the way out: thanks for doing that; be sure to read the room in the future!) We will not hesitate to dine at Landrace in the future when we have show tickets at the Tobin.

   Service and food was excellent, the terrible part was the genre music! For a higher level audience and establishment, RAP MUSIC is the worst music to play, it was disgusting and disappointing! Management should know the audience and keep it upscale like good jazz or soft rock, the RAP music killed the whole  ambience! It’s no wonder the place was not packed.

   We had a private room for 12 people and we were provided a dedicated server however she still went missing several times and we had to go flag her down. They had an old fashioned cart and it seemed the person preparing the drinks was not that good at making them so they were somewhat average. The food overall was good, however pricey by comparative standards. We ordered 2 tomahawk steaks at $180 each and they came out very rare and we wound up eating one and sent the other one back and they were not able to rectify it so we wound up getting fillets instead. The wine list is good but apples to apples probably 20% higher when compared to comparable restaurants in town. The restaurant was mostly empty on a Saturday night. The restaurant is otherwise beautiful and inside the Thompson hotel downtown. It should do better however they will have to step up the service.

   Great food and quality service. Very nice evening with my wife celebrating my birthday. Cheesecake and cappuccinos were an awesome way to celebrate!

   Did not match the website or Instagram at all. There were only three other tables in the entire restaurant. Menu was very small, we got two appetizers and they were so bad we left and went to Bohannon’s.
