The Wagyu hot rock was amazing! Sushi and sashimi was rather large and bulky cuts...waiter said that is how the chef likes to make it. Chicken dumplings were tasty but odd- just really large amount of protein in the dumpling. Nice atmosphere. Wouldn't necessarily go back for the food considering Osaki's in Vail is much better !

Overall our food and experience here was really good. We got the tuna crispy rice (excellent), Hamachi with a bunch of nigiri sushi and the Wagyu hot rock. Our kids got the chicken Ramen and really enjoyed it. Drinks were very good as well. All of the food was really good except for desert we picked which was the flaming Death Star. The service was wasn’t bad but there was no hostess and it took them about 10 minutes to seat us. Not a big deal but it wasn’t really that busy. Our server was kind of slow missed our edamame (still showed up on bill) and another drink order. Overall, this is a really good place inside the Hyatt hotel so very convenient. We would definitely go there again.

We had high hopes for dinner at Makoto. Taking into consideration that it is Vail, it was still overpriced. We ordered a few different things and unfortunately they were not all winners. We ordered the $80 sushi chef special and somehow it was confused into the sashimi chef special, no big deal but it consisted of 12 pieces of sashimi and a small roll. Definitely expected more for the price. That being said, the drinks were tasty as were the chicken dumplings! I probably would not go back.

Hands down the best food we’ve had in Vail and we’ve had a lot. The house salad with miso dressing is incredible. The sushi was all amazing. My wife doesn’t like raw fish so she had the California roll which is made with real steamed crab which somehow made that simple roll taste incredible as well.

We had such great dinner. Our server Dani was great! Our food was wonderful. We had the tuna and crispy rice which was great. We had several of the rolls which were all amazing. One of the best California rolls we have had. The real crab makes it. The noodles were cooked perfectly and the hot bowl added a nice crispiness to them. Highly recommend!!
