Margaret is a neighbourhood restaurant at its core, but it’s also evolved into something more than that. It’s about comfort, generosity, and cosiness.
At Margaret, we work with the best quality produce that Australia has to offer. Chef Neil Perry AM has spent years developing relationships with some of the best suppliers in the country. We are predominantly a seafood restaurant and are very fortunate to receive our seafood direct from our fishermen, caught sustainably and dry filleted here onsite at Margaret, so we can ensure that all that love and care our wonderful fisherman have taken is seen all the way through. An exceptionally good experience. Three flawless entrees with the crab salad the highlight. Excellent steak. Overall one of the highest quality meals I’ve had in Australia.

Very nice food , but service was lacking. Drinks order issues, no forks for one diner and not so subtle leaving of the cheque when we hadn’t asked for it, followed quickly by a waiter bringing a payment terminal to the table. Finally, specifically asked how the scallops were served and it was confirmed they were lightly grilled but when they arrived they were raw. Very nice still but staff need to know how food is presented.

Dear Stephen Thank you for taking the time to review us regarding your lunch yesterday. We are incredibly saddened to learn you felt the service let you down as this is never our intention. We do provide extensive training to all of our waiters in regards to the food and therefore can only apologise if there has been a possible misunderstanding when discussing the Scallop Crudo. Margaret was at it's usual brilliant best today. All entrees were 10/10 and then we all had the King George Whiting served with the Margaret olive oil. It was simply faultless. Best in Australia without doubt. Be back very soon.
