Signature dishes served at Mary Mahoney's Old French House include Queen Ixolib, Fresh Fish of the Day topped with Lump Crabmeat, Sisters of the Sea Au Gratin and Shrimp and Lump Crabmeat Melba.     Always 1st class food and service. The surf & turf was excellent. Could cut the fillet with a plastic fork. The taste was superb!

    Service was quite good, although the waiter was clearly overloaded. I found the food uninspiring - with a couple of bright spots. My entree was the unpronounceable selection…you’ll know what I mean if you look at the menu. It arrived on a room temperature plate, so my meal cooled down quite quickly. The pasta topped with a roasted tomato was edible. There was nothing to really comment on. Just quite ordinary. I had started with gumbo. It was slimey. I know okra is slimey, but this was more than okra slime. It’s as if the dish had been prepared with a thickening agent other than a well-prepared roux. The gumbo across the street at Beau Rivage is much better!!! The house ranch dressing was quite good, and so I enjoyed the side salad. I was delighted that they still serve a bread basket. Great bread. Plenty of butter to go with it. It was a highlight! I ordered bread pudding for dessert. It was quite tasty but would have been much better had it been a little warm. I was expecting a strong rum taste from the sauce, but it just wasn’t there. Maybe because the sauce was skimpy. An ordinary meal in a lovely setting.

    We had an excellent meal and terrific service. We love this restaurant! It’s always delicious and never disappoints. Elk Cove Pinot Gris is so good and dessert was amazing we highly recommend praline parfait!

    Food was perfect, waitstaff was amazing! Requested some roses as this visit was an anniversary dinner, they had a beautiful arrangement set out for us. HIGHLY RECOMMEND
