Massimino's Cucina Italiana is a North End gem, praised for its "authentic Italian cuisine" and "wonderful staff." Diners love the cozy atmosphere and proximity to TD Garden. Standouts include the "best chicken parm in Massachusetts" and "delicious eggplant." Perfect for a pre-game meal or intimate gathering.

Service & food was outstanding! Met a few “Southie” locals that made our night!

Honestly I’m pretty disappointed with my experience. Had I known they were doing a very basic, limited menu for Valentine’s Day with no dessert options at all and a charge to split a dish, I absolutely would’ve made a reservation somewhere else. It was also way too overcrowded to the point where anyone who walked past a table was brushing up against it. The amount of times I was bumped into by a customer or server was really frustrating. Not impressed with much other than the strength of their cocktails, and thank god for that at least.

I made a reservation here because we were looking for a good dinner before a show at TD Garden. I had looked the day before at the website to see if there was going to be any special or prix fixe menus for the holiday (Valentines Day). I checked every possible option, no mention of it. We showed up and were given truncated, special menus for the day. And, there were paper signs posted around the restaurant stating that there’d be no dessert for the evening. I think communicating these things in advance would have been helpful. We sat downstairs and it was pretty tight with all of the outdoor tables and staff they had to cram in down there. I used the bathroom, no toilet paper or anything to use…not the restaurants fault as I saw a person leave the room prior and not say anything about it. The bathroom was a little dirty, kind of a bummer. Drinks were good (espresso martini (stated made with baileys, no baileys in it) and Aperol spritz… Calamari app was well fried and tender. I ordered a pasta burrata dish off the specials menu (separate from the Valentine’s menu) and it was fine. My friend ordered the bolognese; she didn’t comment on it. Our waiter was cool, helpful and attentive when appropriate. They may have been the best thing about our experience.

We grabbed a drink at the bar to start and we loved the bartender. I can’t remember her name, but she was new. We honestly wish we just stayed at the bar to eat and drink because once we got to the table, the service was an absolute nightmare. They kept trying to clear our dishes before we were even done eating. They came over three different times and started taking away plates while we were eating. On top of that the server was less than pleasant. Overall, there are so many good Italian restaurants in the north end and I think having the right balance of good food and great service is important.

It was bad from the moment we walked in the door and just kept getting worse. We had a reservation but had to wait a half hour to be seated. The table bread was average and the dipping oil was flavorless. We ordered fried burrata and lobster ravioli for appetizers. The burrata was dry and crumbly inside. The ravioli came with 3 ravioli (for over $20). The chicken picatta was the worst I've ever had. It was battered, which I've never seen before, and the batter was mushy and spongy. The chicken was overcooked. The pasta and sauce were nothing remarkable. The Bolognese looked like it was microwaved leftovers. They asked us to change tables to accommodate another party, but they did comp our drinks and dessert for that.

It was recommended by a family member living near Boston as we wanted to eat before going to TD Garden. This is like a little hidden gem & only 5 min walk away! For an app I had the best meatball eva!! Our main course meals, pappardelle limoncello & chicken Marsala, were superb. Oh, for dessert the chocolate mousse, heavenly. Highly recommend, I’ll be back next time I’m in Boston for sure.

I had a great meal with my friend before the Boston Celtics game. After sharing a delicious Caesar salad, I enjoyed my Veal Massimino. Matthew was a superb server. The food was tasty; the portions were large and the prices were fair. I highly recommend dining here when in the North End/Causeway area.

Despite having a reservation, the hostess couldn't seat us, and told us we would have a 20-minute wait because other guests hadn't left. We were going to a game afterward so we didn't have much time. She found us two seats at the bar, where the service was great. But, both of us ordered gluten free dishes which were disappointing. The GF pasta was fine but the meat/fish and sauces were better or overly salty.

Massimino's is my go to before a Bruins or Celts game. It never disappoints!
