   We tried the "buck a shuck" night. The clams were very tasty and fresh. Our meal was prepared perfect. Nothing back to say at all. Love this restraunt. When we want a great meal this is where we go.

   Excellent professional wait staff. Nice touch by leaving a birthday card for my husband. Treated my gluten allergy with ease. Good gluten free options

   Max's Oyster Bar has been one of my "Go To" places in West Hartford for many years. The food, service, and overall vibe is always great.

   We had a lovely experience celebrating a birthday lunch here! The food was delicious, but the service truly stood out—Jayden was warm, friendly, and perfectly timed. She gave great recommendations and made the celebration feel so special with her kindness and attention to detail. A perfect blend of professionalism and genuine hospitality.    Omg, just when I didn’t think it could get any better, it did! We ate at Max’s about 2 months ago. Went again on our way home from skiing yesterday and I swear, it was one of the best meals I’ve ever had. I got the same thing as last time…the baby kale and brussel salad and the trout almondine! Unbelievable! My husband got the Caesar and ordered swordfish grilled with a beurre blanc sauce, grilled asparagus and fingerling potatoes. As plain as that sounds, it was delicious. The fish was cooked perfectly and the sauce…all I can say is we will keep coming back. I have to find excuses to go there as we live in South Jersey. Also our server Jayden was fantastic! Very attentive! Love, love, love Max’s! I used to go just because of the oyster selection, but now it’s everything else!

   Brunch today was fantastic. Our server TORI is fabulous. Music was excellent but unfortunately way too loud for the space. Impossible to talk without shouting to be heard. We love Max Oyster Bar and go regularly. Consistently excellent food and service.

    Ordered ribeye medium rare. First the cut was .5 inch thick, and it was cooked medium well and full of marbling with little eatable meat.
