Melograno was established in 2003 by Chef Gianluca Demontis & Rosemarie Tran. The couple met in Rome when Rose was studying abroad. When Luca relocated to Philadelphia they wanted to represent his roots. Located in the beautiful Rittenhouse Square, surrounded by shops and entertainment. Melograno is a warm haven for good food and comforting service. A place to enjoy with friends and family. We are a BYOB so bring the spirits of your choice, we are happy to serve you.

                                                    Melograno is a tradition red sauce Italian restaurant that goes far normal in every way. Simple things like being greeted at the door and seated promptly set a good tone for the evening. The tables are seated far enough to enable conversation. The menu includes most of the standards but executed at a very high level. My Italian wife said the meatballs were just like her mother’s, the highest praise possible. The pastas were terrific, highlighted by the duck fazzoletti. Highly recommended.

                                                    We had a great meal here with a group of friends. The service was fantastic (should-out to Marco, who was charming, efficient and overall delightful) and we all enjoyed our entrees and shared appetizers and desserts. The homemade pastas were all great! The open kitchen and reasonably spaced-out tables make it a fun, inviting atmosphere without a crazy amount of noise. Being a BYOB makes this a great value too. Would definitely return, and recommend.
