   This is our third & last dinner there. Our reservations stated it was a birthday and as a result - we were seated at a drafty, cold wobbly table by the door. They ran out of items, our $60 steaks were originally delivered well done (requested Medium Rare) and were returned practically raw. They comped one steak and a glass of wine (they ran out of the original wine). The table next to us received their duck cold, so clearly something was off in the kitchen. The manager and wait staff tried, but the experience was unacceptable at their price points, particularly in a city where we have countless dining options. The only way we got through the meal were the cocktails and commiserating / laughing with our neighbors who were also freezing by the door with sub standard food. Oysters and artichokes were good; but the entrees were a disaster. Really surprising for a Michelin recommendation. We've noticed using opentable for reservations results in poor tables; so doubtful we'll be continuing.

   Delicious French comfort food expertly prepared. They were busy last night but the service was excellent and our meal was perfectly paced. I highly recommend the profiteroles and cappuccino for dessert!

   We were in the mood for mussels. We could not get reservations at our favourite place, so we decided to try somewhere new. Mercat is a cute bistro filled with conversation and good times. The service was excellent. Our server was super attentive! The food was good.

   Mercat never disappoints. The food and service are always outstanding. Our most recent visit was for dinner, but they also have a fantastic brunch. It's fast becoming a favorite of ours.

   Food and ambiance are good, but service leaves something to be desired. The first time I came here, my food (for a party of 4) took over 1.5 hours to be served and I had ask them to check on it twice - it was not a particularly busy time either, so I suspect they just forgot about our order. The second time I came, we received our food in a timely manner, but they continually rushed us and we were there for less than an hour. Feel like some training for the staff is needed here.

   There’s not enough praise for the staff and restaurant. Mercat is truly an amazing gem of Dallas’ food scene and I will definitely be back!

   Just after taking our seat we were told we only “had the table” for 1.5 hours (nothing about this on the website, which we pointed out). Maitre backed down and said no problem, take as long as you like. Took 40 min to get a glass of tonic (just tonic, no alcohol) for one guest. Food was ok. Asked to split salads, told “kitchen does not do that, but we will bring you extra plate.” Not Michelin level by any stretch.

    The food was disappointing overall, as several items arrived cold. My fiancé had the Provençal Omelette, and having lived in Paris for nearly a decade, her standards are understandably high. However, the combination of vegetables in the omelette, including something that tasted like pickle, was off-putting even to me—and I’m not particularly picky. I had the steak and eggs; the eggs were perfectly cooked over-easy but arrived ice cold. On the other hand, the steak was seasoned and cooked to perfection. We also ordered the pastry basket, which was underwhelming—cold, slightly warm in spots, and tasting old. Definitely not worth the price. The avocado toast, however, was the highlight of the meal and the one dish that stood out. The service was excellent, and the host was fantastic—very accommodating. The gazebo was a bit noisy, so I imagine the main dining room would provide a cozier atmosphere. While the service and ambiance were commendable, the food fell short and didn’t meet our expectations.
