We have been regular customers for years. Unfortunately, it did not hit the mark this time. The food just did not have the quality and creativity of the past and was underwhelming. My veal was tough, my brother and law had the cannelloni stuffed with seafood. He is a Suppa de Peche fan -this was the closet offering and he said it was just ground seafood with an uninteresting sauce. We did not like the red sauce as a dip for the bread and would have much more enjoyed fine quality olive oil. My sister enjoyed the lasagna and Caesar salad, but she really was the only one impressed with her dinner.

Ordered the halibut and the ravioli. Both were good. The halibut was just a touch dry but still good. Also had the duck prosciutto salad and the octopus. Both were amazing. Loved the half off bottle of wine selection. Our servers were excellent and attentive. Loved that I never had to pour my own wine or water. Can’t wait to go back.

Juan our server was very attentive and knowledgeable and gave good service. We felt like the menu lacked protein options that were not stuffed or filled with cheese. The calamari appetizer was very good. The pork cutlet parmigiana was good but nothing over the top special about it.

The food was disappointing. Heavy handed on the herbs, especially the oregano. The service was amazing. My daughter got the bolognese one of her favorites and she couldn't even eat it. The taste of oregano was so over powering and there was no sign of meat in the sauce. The pasta while homemade was unevenly cooked. The lasagna was similar in flavor. The duck ragu special was all pasta no duck. If I had to recommend a meal I would say stick with the veal or the fish and ask for no oregano and to please leave the bay leaves in the kitchen. Again the staff was amazing.

I chose to spend my 62nd birthday at Michael Anthony's and it was a delight. We were greeted promptly and led to our table where a birthday card was displayed. We were then offered complimentary Prosecco, which was delicious. Our server was Juan and he was exceptional. He knows his menu. Hubby had the veal - best dish - and I had the shrimp pasta. All very good, solid. The beef carpaccio was delicious. Highly recommend!

Thursday night was the second time we dined here, after an outstanding experience on Tuesday night. The restaurant was much busier than Tuesday night with 2 private parties. The food once again was outstanding, but the service was not as good as Tuesday night. We had 2 servers, one tall guy and a shorter guy. The shorter guy was very cordial, professional and friendly. He took very good care of us. The taller guy was not as attentive, and we overheard him talking to the longtime customers who were once locals, that tourists don't tip well. This is a slap in the face since WE ARE TOURISTS! Suggest that management caution their wait staff regarding that tourists come to their restaurant too and our money can be spent at other places.
That said, the food was the star of the show both nights. Talented chef who creates outstanding specials and a solid regular menu. Backed up by a solid kitchen team, they turn out dishes quickly and with great execution.
Thanks for 2 great meals!
