   We arrived promptly at 6:14 for our 6:15 reservation- while the hostess was trying to sort out where to sit us, the manager interrupted and told her where to take us. We were whisked past numerous empty tables to the farthest corner of the restaurant next to the kitchen door and the perch behind me where everything around bills and issues seems to be discussed, so loudly I could hardly hear my husband. It was a special night out - our valentine celebration. We drove an hour for dinner and to attend the Colin James concert at the Grand. Which we told the waitress upon arrival. Seemed like an eternity to get our wine, which we ordered as soon as Lisa arrived at our table. Empty wine glasses were initially brought to our table, we ordered quickly. We waited and we waited for wine. It took a 45 mins to get our food. Around 7: 20, we asked for a dessert to share and our bill, reminding her we had to leave by 7:45 to get to our show by 8:00. Needless to say there was no joy over the dessert, it arrived at 7:40. She offered a take out container. Where would we put that at the show? My husband woofed down dessert. We made it to the show as the lights flashed after running several blocks. Needless to say after an evening I was so looking forward to was marred by what I feel was total disrespect. There was a family of 6, with 4 young children and a couple with a baby in our section slammed against the kitchen. My husband and I are in our 60’s - felt like we were seated at the kids table. On a side note, the kids were quieter than the staff talking behind my back at their chat post. We live near Perth, usually go to Ottawa for entertainment. I’m from Kingston and suggested we try - I hadn’t been to the old S&R building since it was renovated, it’s lovely, I’m sure the ambience at a section away from the kitchen would have made our evening more enjoyable. Thank you Lisa for trying but I understand from the conversation behind me, they were trying to get you off for 7:30.

   We had a great time, great staff, great drinks. I love to order the ravioli and was disappointed it didn’t come with the garnishing, no pecans or apples just ravioli and sauce with goat cheese. It was still good but sure wasn’t as good with out the special touches. I didn’t want to complain because it was so busy and I figured it was just missed, my friend ordered and was also sad no pecans. We will be back however 😊

   We waited over an hour for our food. The restaurant was NOT crowded - maybe only 1 quarter full. Once the food finally arrived we had to wolf it down as we were then late for the hockey game. Food was good but couldn't enjoy it and wait time was unacceptable.

   We had a reservation for 6pm. We ordered by 6:20 and our food took nearly an hour to get to our table. Our waitress was nice enough to explain that we should get our orders in quick to get our food in a order to get for our event at 7:30. That did not happen. We also witnessed tables that came in well after us order, eat and leave before we even got our food. The food was decent, the waitress was very nice but the wait time was very disappointing. We will not be returning because of that. It seemed as though they may have been short staffed, be it in the kitchen or in waiting staff, which is a little suspicious given there was a large event happening about a block away.

   This is the second time we booked a reservation to dine at Milestones Kingston before an event. The first time the wait was very, very long for drinks and our food. We had to go to the bar to get our own then return to our table. The manager apologized and said they were short staffed and didn’t realize there was a concert going on. We decided to try again last night. We sat at 550pm for. 730 show. After about 20 minutes we got our drink order we decided to order everything at once so we could leave by 720. We got out appetizer at about 7 and by 715 we decided to talk to the manager to cancel our food order. The restaurant was busy but there was still a lot of empty seats. We will never come back. The wait staff was lovely and it isn’t her fault but I wasn’t about to pay that kind of money for a meal I would have to scarf down and leave or take it in a take out container. Milestones needs to do better. We won’t be back.

   Couple, visited before a show at the Slush Puppy centre … Great food and good service. The kitchen was a little bit slow, but not an issue if we weren’t going to a show. The mushroom soup was delicious. One of us had a vegetarian squash pasta, that was excellent. I had a crispy Korean chicken sandwich that was also excellent. Definitely worth a visit.

    We ate early (5:15pm) and made it in time for Happy hour ordering cheaper apps. The fish tacos were awesome!
