The food was great. The service was lacking except for the wonderful young lady who was the hostess. The waitress was too busy to even come over to my table and I had been warned by two other patrons that were there before me. Even in the end, I had to go and ask for my check which is ridiculous especially since it was early afternoon. I cannot imagine if they were really busy.

Outside of the hostess not being familiar with OpenTable check in when I informed her that I had a reservation,it was great dining experience. I've actually been to a couple locations and looking forward to other locations.

i had high hopes for this restaurant but really would only feel it’s a 3.5/5. the food was slightly warm in some places and hot in other places, maybe the restaurant was too cold, which is why the food wasn’t equally hot. our server, really only came to take our order, bring our food/drinks, and collect a check. i love going to a place where the server is actively checking on their guests, ensuring they have the best time there. that being said, we did do bottomless brunch, and although we knew there was a 90 min time limit, we would have loved a warning for when our time ended. it felt a bit rushed towards the end, our check was presented, but we were never asked as if we needed some thing or if we felt good. I understand that there are other patrons that would like to be seated, but since we hadn’t finished our drinks, we moved to the bar and sat down. for a good 45 minutes, no one was sat at the table that the hosts desperately needed us to move away from. i will say, the bar team gave us excellent service, making sure we were entertained but also taken care of. despite us not ordering any additional drinks, and enjoying the ones we had, the bartenders did a great job at allowing us to enjoy our time at miss toyas. they do deserve a raise! all in all, i had high hopes but i’d say you can get better southern food (even if you have to pay a little extra).

Spacious seating. Did not feel cramped at all. Decent service. Drinks took a while and came out at the same time as our food, which is the same thing that happened recently at another Miss Toiya's (DC) Food was ok. My short rib sandwich had a ton of gristle. The fries were great. We went with a native Louisianan who was not impressed with the jambalaya from technical pov - it's supposed to be cooked together so the rice absorbs the stew liquid. The portions were generous, though, which he remarked on. The prices are a little high but not ridiculous. The vibe was nice. Everyone seemed to be dressed up! Wide variety of people - older, younger, fashionable, chic and regular everyday middle aged folks (like us), too.

Family in town and wanted to go to a black owned restaurant. Miss Toya’s came straight to mind! We made a reservation and was seated quickly and in a seat we preferred. The food and cocktails were delicious and came out quickly. The service was exceptional as well and server was pleasant as can be. We had the catfish and grits, snapper, macaroni and cheese and crab fries….ALL was delicious!! If your in the area, make Miss Toya’s a regular in your rotation when looking for good eats ❤️
