Inspired by the wood-fired Robata grills of Japan, Mizu offers a refreshed take on live-fire cooking atop the Hyatt Centric in the heart of Charlotte’s SouthPark neighborhood. Opened in August of 2021 and named one of 2022's "25 Best New Restaurants" and "50 Best Restaurants" by Charlotte Magazine, the rooftop restaurant by Indigo Road Hospitality Group (IRHG) combines the traditions of ancient Japanese cooking with Southern influences and Asian flavors. The kitchen, anchored by Mizu’s own Robata grill, features a seafood-focused menu composed of wood-fired, raw, and chilled offerings.

The beverage program focuses on bright, easy-drinking libations using Japanese spirits and seasonal ingredients, complementing the cuisine and atmosphere. With a chic, minimalist design with natural elements throughout, the restaurant, named for the Japanese word for water, offers sweeping rooftop views from the patio, as well as sophisticated interiors and comfortable lounge and bar seating.

We had a great meal at Mizu. Particularly liked the scallops and the 1,000 Snowflakes sake. Hamachi kama was delicious. We will be returning for our next special occasion.

Mizu is consistently a favorite with our family. The food is amazing, and our server Rezi was very attentive. We love Mizu and highly recommend for a fun night dining with family or friends.

This was our second time at Mizu. We wanted to give this highly rated restaurant a second chance after a disappointing first visit. Unfortunately this was hit-or-miss. The food descriptions show potential and get you excited but presentation and flavor were lacking. Chicken and salmon skewers were dry and salty. Maybe an interesting sauce or dipper may have helped. A highlight was the scallop dish. They were tender, with a nice lemongrass/miso preparation. They were sliced unevenly, taking away from the presentation. We enjoyed the shrimp sushi roll. Fried potatoes were simple, but tasty. The best part of the night was the service. Waitress was attentive, knowledgeable and very professional. All and all a good experience but not great for the price and high expectations.

Mizu is a must visit place. The menu is unique and you can taste the quality ingredients. Our server Resy was patient & kind. There is valet which takes away any parking stress. Most surprisingly it is not super overpriced! I love it here🥰

The creativity and quality of the Asian style tapas were excellent. Overall service from the bartender and waitress was friendly and on point. Will definitely be back.
