   Some of the dishes were almost indelible. Some were okay. Perhaps it was a bad night for the kitchen. Something was wrong. First time eating there and will not go back. DC has many great restaurants. Suggest skipping this one

   Everything was amazing. We had a wonderful meal and our waiter was incredible. He made excellent wine and meal suggestions and explained all the dishes to us. All the staff was friendly and attentive. Would definitely go back.

   The drinks, food, atmosphere, and service were 10/10. Extra shout out for moving my reservation two times the last minute on what is probably the busiest day of the year (Valentine's day). We are definitely making this place a staple. Elegant, modern/hip vibe and very professional service.

   The menu choices for the Valentines Day prix fixe menu were outstanding - delicious and well presented. The sommelier and waiter were quite helpful in guiding us to wine choices.

   Thanks to Nathan and Chris, last night's wine dinner was amazing. Learned a lot about wines from Friuli and Venezia and ate scrumptious food at the same time

   Lovely restaurant, generous portions, great service. Restaurant week menu was extensive enough that we really had to choose what we wanted.

   Great experience, loved going there for restaurant week, great service and staff made us feel welcome and comfortable, and the food was delicious. I got the Short Rib Crochetta, Wagyu Zabuton Bisteca, and Carmelized Honey Panna Cotta. My date got the Crispy Fried Artichokes, Wagyu Zabuton Bisteca, and Tiramisu. Steak was cooked perfectly to temperature with a delicious sear. The crochetta was good but a little heavy for an appetizer for me. The crispy artichokes were very tasty and came with a creamy sauce, I think that was our favorite of the appetizers. We both preferred the tiramisu to the panna cotta, though both were very decadent, the tiramisu though had the coffee flavors balancing the richness. I had a glass of the 2006 California Sangiovese (can’t remember the winery) which paired well with the steak, my date enjoyed the Bombay Paloma which was tasty and had a distinct Smokey flavor.

    This was the best of our Restaurant Week choices in the years we have taken advantage of RW. We were seated in an area that allowed easy conversation. The staff was very gracious and chef Jonathan Spence stopped by and chatted. We have been to Modena a number of times previously, but each dish this evening was a winner. We especially loved the pork coppa with truffle risotto, and hope this makes it on to the regular menu. We would go back soon for that dish alone. We were thoughtfully reminded at the time the check was presented, that a 20% service charge was already included, and a tip was not necessary. We felt that the wonderful service we received, warranted an additional tip. Thank you Modena staff for a wonderful evening. It felt like an early Valentine's Day.
