Mona Pasta Bar

Dinner dishes highlight the marriage of Italian techniques with Southern California ingredients including Pesce Crudo with citrus cured hamachi, kosho beet vinaigrette and hazelnuts, Burrata & Tomato with burrata pugliese, heirloom tomato, pine nuts, pesto and squash blossom, Casarecce with lamb sausage and rapini, Lumache - alla vodka, and a Whole Branzino with caramelized fennel.

The menu is designed for snacking over a glass of wine, sharing with friends and/or enjoying a more coursed out dining experience. Pasta, a focal point of the offerings, will all be made in-house.

The wine list is focused on fun, daring, low-intervention, natural wines to accentuate and complement the food. The primarily Italian focused list with opening selections from Sicily to Puglia will be rotating based on seasonality and availability.

I made reservations over a week in advance for this place and was very excited to try it but when I showed up for my 5:30 reservation it was closed. I wish they were more professional and didn’t allow someone to book a reservation for a time slot that wasn’t available. I double checked their hours online and they should have been open according to the hours posted on their website. I’m not sure if I would make the trip back considering the lack of respect for their patrons’ time and resources.

Delicious food and dessert! Excellent happy hour house red and appetizers! Quaint restaurant and great music. Must try it!

First time dining here. Cute and small. Very personable staff who acted as host, server and bartender. Good was deliciousness and full of flavor. Will definitely go back

Good: waiter was awesome, really nice and super attentive; meatballs! Bad: acoustics are not good, one loud table in the place ruins it; tables are super close together and there was a newly acquainted couple next to us and oh my did he pour in the cologne in abundance Ugly: I chose linguini with clams and there were 3 fresh clamshells on top of the pasta and then a ton of canned clams; overwhelming amount of butter; not good.

We ordered the flash pan fried Brussel sprouts, burrata and heirloom salad, cacio e pepe, and vongole pasta. Everything was DELICIOUS!! So much flavor, perfect portions, and welcome plated. The service was wonderful - she was friendly, but didn’t linger. A new favorite spot I will be returning to often!

All I can say is THE BEST WINE THE BEST PASTA THE BEST TIRAMISU We traveled all the way from Scotland and seen a lot about this wee wine cafe/restaurant so we thought we had to try it! All I can say is this will not disappoint from feeling so welcome from walking in to leaving and experiencing to date the best wine, side, pasta and desert to date! Will definitely be visiting before we head back to Scotland
