    This is a great restaurant to experience the traditional regional foods of Mexico. The staff takes pride in introducing and explaining the various dishes. You need to be willing to get a bit outside of your culinary comfort level if you are not Mexican as these are dishes that you probably have not experienced before. The food is delicious. This was a fun and worthwhile dining experience. Don’t miss it.

    Nos encantó la vibra del restaurante, la iluminación. El staff es atento y amable y sobre todo, la comida, en esta temporada por lo que nos comentaron, fue dedicada a la zona de la Mixteca Poblana. Yo pensé que sería más como una interpretación de sus platillos, pero nos dijeron que son las recetas fieles de las cocineras mixtecas. Buenas porciones, deliciosos sabores y temperatura de servicio. La chef Diana hace una excelente labor de investigación gastronómica. Me encantaría volver para probar otra región en un futuro próximo.

    Had a great dinner at Mux. All of the food was delicious, the staff were friendly and patient with my slow Spanish; would definitely go back! Recommend the nopales rellanos!

    The Guaxmole was my favorite dish. My friend ordered the 5 course pairing and the portions were more than expected. The soup and mole was the favorite for him.

    I have eaten three meals at this restaurant in the last 2 years and all of them have been excellent and a delightful dining experience. This time I had the white chorizo taco and the mole with chicken. Both dishes wet complex and delicious

    Disappointing Experience, Not Worth the Hype I had high hopes for this restaurant based on its positive reviews, but unfortunately, my experience did not live up to expectations. The menu was confusing and poorly written, filled with historical anecdotes and unnecessary details about each dish, but lacking basic descriptions that would help diners understand what they were actually ordering. Unless you engage with the server, you’ll leave the restaurant knowing very little about the food itself. To make matters worse, many of the menu items—both food and wine—were unavailable on the evening we visited, which left us with fewer options than anticipated. The real issue, however, was with the food preparation. One of the dishes we ordered featured beef hind shank (chambarete in Spanish), a cut that requires slow cooking to become tender. Unfortunately, the dish was poorly executed—the meat was tough and inedible and the sauce almost flavorless. As a chef myself, I know that when cooked properly, beef shank should be meltingly tender, but the response to our complaint was simply, "It’s beef shank, and that’s how it is." This was an unsatisfactory answer, especially when the dish was clearly not cooked to its full potential. The rest of the food was passable but unremarkable—not great, and certainly not deserving of the praise the restaurant receives. It felt like the kitchen was relying more on its "story" than on delivering food that truly stands out. Given the combination of subpar food, confusing menu, and unhelpful response to our concerns, I cannot recommend this restaurant. Unfortunately, I won’t be returning.
