   First thing to know is reservation dining is upstairs. We were here during peak cherry blossom season and had their cherry themed, 3 course meal. We started of with pork belly buns and shrimp tempura. Buns were delicious! Then we had beef tenderloin and scallops - both cooked perfectly! Sides of carrots and potatoes were not seasoned and cold. Broccolini was perfect, however! Dessert was cherry gelato and red velvet cake. Both were good. Spent $240 for 3 people - with sparkling water and 2 cokes.

   Lovely spot in every respect. Exceptional food, service, and ambience. Perfect for casual business dinner with 12. But would’ve also been great venue for date or fun dinner with friends.

   First time at New Heights and it will not be our last. Janna, our server was delightful. The menu is quite varied (Latin American and Ukranian/Eastern European) but everything was delicious and very fresh. I had a crab cake which came with a small simple salad and both were excellent. The crab cake was very large and used real crab meat and was perfectly seasoned. The tuna tacos had a nice little kick and the ceviche was outstanding. Room decor looks tired but has GREAT potential with comfortable banquets and large picture windows. Bar drinks need some help (upgrade) but we will most definitely be back when we want to sit, enjoy a good meal and hear what our friends have to say.

   It was Restaurant week and a perfect opportunity to return to one of out favorites. We began with a glass of wine, Carmenere for me and and Rose Figuiere for her. For starters I had Salmon Tartar and my girlfriend had Roasted Beet Carpaccio. Both were beautifully presented and my dish was delicate with a variety of complex flavors. For my main coarse I had the Brazed Lamb Shank. It was tender falling off the bone and easily separated with a fork. I must say the portion was generous and delicious. I wound up taking some home for a second meal and to leave room for desert. My girlfriend had Pan Seared Branzino which was also a generous serving and delicious. My desert was the Tiramisu. My girlfriend who is not a big eater let me have her desert to go along with my take out. The service was prompt and cordial with Rosi as our serve who was attentive without being obtrusive. Ambiance is warm and comfortable with windows overlooking a little section of Rock Creek Park below Connecticut Avenue
