A delicious taste of Germany in the Charleston area. Great service, nice ambiance, wine, beer and a menu that is broad enough to cover all tastes but focused enough to ensure quality in each bite. It’s a small and efficient location with ample parking so make a reservation, arrive on time and prepare to be happy.

Having made a reservation several weeks ago and requesting a booth for seating we were greeted at the door and told our booth was given to another party. We were relegated to a table by the door and subjected to cold drafts every time the door opened. It was obviously known before we arrived and a courtesy call would have been appropriate so we could have changed our plans.

Hello Denise We are sorry that you were unhappy with the table you were assigned last night. As you can clearly see, we are a tiny restaurant with very limited seating capabilities, especially on a big day like Christmas when we have many reservation requests that we cannot accept. We try to grant requests as well as we are able, however we can NEVER guarantee any particular table regardless of how early the request was made. Sometimes there are reservation "emergencies" that happen in the course of the evening that require us to change the seating plan (parties sit longer than planned, handicapped guests need special accommodations, party sizes changes spontaneously, the list goes on) and unfortunately that was the case last night. Again, sorry for your disappointment and happy holidays!

Christmas Eve this year was quiet for us, so decided to go the Nick's. We thought, "how appropriate"! I had the beef tenderloin special - To die for! Hubby had the pork chop, which he loved. This is truly a special place with wonderful food and people!

Pleasant and efficient service from Nicky (Nikki?) . We ordered jagerschnitzel and a special - tenderloin stroganoff. Both dishes were excellent as were sides of red cabbage.

We took my husband's mother from Germany here, and we were all blown away by the food--authentic, and elevated! My mother-in-law so enjoyed speaking her mother tongue with Sam, Devin, and Nick. We came on Thirsty Thursday (half price wine), and really enjoyed a deliciously dry and juicy bottle of Dr. Loosen sparkling riesling from Mosel. Our entrees were jägerschnitzel with spätzle, beef sauerbraten with spätzle, and beef tenderloin medallions with mustard crust, bacon fried potatoes, and bacon green beans, and an additional side of spätzle. We were blown away by the deliciousness of every component of each plate. The sauces were subtle, the meats were prepared beautifully (barely any breading, if any, on my schnitzel, which I love, love, love), everything was perfectly balanced. We all exclaimed over the spätzle, because so often the noodles are too small and too over-sautéed, and you don't get a satisfying bite. Nick's is perfectly prepared and satisfying. Portions were perfectly sized for all three of us to order dessert. We had the chocolate soufflé, apple strudel, and pflaumenkuchen (plum cake--my mother-in-law's favorite). They were all amazing. The soufflé and strudel both had a bit of crispiness on the edges that immediately melted in your mouth. The apples, raisins and cinnamon in the strudel were perfectly balanced and comforting yet exciting. So good! And my mother-in-law adored the pflaumenkuchen--perfectly unctuous and not sweet. Needless to say, this is a new favorite restaurant, and we will be back soon. P.S. Everyone was happy here; the owner, the staf, and the customers. We had fun conversations with everyone. It was just a truly lovely evening.

We love Nick’s! Authentic / delicious German food served in a cozy family run restaurant. You can tell that they love what they do - all three entrees that we ordered were excellent.
