    Led by award-winning, nationally-recognized chef Jason Knibb, NINE-TEN offers the perfect combination of sophistication and casual elegance and an ideal location along lively Prospect Street in the Village of La Jolla. Recognized with MICHELIN distinction, NINE-TEN’s globally-inspired, locally-sourced cuisine features the best of the harvest from local artisans where products are selected daily for the restaurant’s seasonal menus. Dine indoors or al fresco on our sidewalk patio or back terrace with peek views of the Pacific Ocean. Heaters and blankets are available during the colder weather. Private dining rooms are also available for groups of 8 or more. Breakfast is served Wednesday through Friday, 7 am to 11 am. Brunch is served Saturday & Sunday, 7 am to 2 pm. and features $6 mimosas and $8 Bloody Marys. Lunch is served Wednesday through Friday, 11:30 am to 2 pm. And dinner service is available Wednesday through Sunday, 5 pm to 9 pm. We look forward to seeing you soon.

Start with an amuse bouche followed by 6 courses including selections from our menu with a nightly specials or Chef's creations tossed in. Add in wine pairings chosen by our Sommelier with each course to round out your meal. Please inform us of any allergies or dietary preferences so we can craft the perfect menu for you. A 20% service charge will be included for all Mercy of the Chef reservations.

    Inattentive service at best. Had at least 3 or 4 waiters take orders or bring food. Never heard a name and most items including check were silently dropped off. The food however is certified delicious and well presented. The burger seems like a “low end” menu item but it was excellent. The lamb was a small portion but so tender and juicy and flavorful. They’re really good with working around allergies too. The ambiance is very nice, it’s a hotel lobby restaurant however so it’s small. But it wasn’t overly loud and the high ceilings and nice bright colorful artwork make sitting in it feel calm and relaxed. Valet parking was 10 dollars and those gentleman were very warm and welcoming.

    Ambience: required to dodge bar stools and wait staff through a narrow entrance path. Table located next to noisy wait station where staff congregates. Vibe not cohesive with Tucson floor tiles, mahogany chairs, and ultra modern art and lighting. Food: Prix-fix lacked creativity of taste and freshness. Amuse bouche not fresh, agnolotti pasta was hard on edges and mushy in center. Cheese was cold with uninventive sides. Hard meringue shell on dessert was not fresh. Staff: Not educated on prix-fix, never received prix-fix menu, not alerted to 20% auto gratuity. Summary: Seemed like we were the only ones opting for the prix-fix. Perhaps the regular menu items are enjoyable.

    They forgot to bring a birthday dessert for my friend, even though I wrote a note on Open Table and also confirmed with the hostess when I checked in.

    Le restaurant est combiné au bar de l’hôtel. Ce fut très bruyant pour la moitié du repas. Nous nous attendions à un environnement plus agréable pour un restaurant supposément primé Michelin. Le nourriture était apprêtée avec raffinement, mais des doutes sur les pétoncles qui avaient un léger goût d’ammoniac. Service moyen. Nous ne recommandons pas.

    My wife and I have lived in Manhattan, Austin, LA, Miami, Brooklyn, and finally settled in San Diego after having kids... We love SD, but the one thing that is consistently disappointing is the restaurants. I get that SD might rank lower than NYC and LA... but it's just annoying how much (MUCH) better the dining scene is in Austin, Miami, and Brooklyn. Not only is SD food disappointing, but the prices are HIGHER. Ug. So once in a while, when we have a great meal, it's something to remark on. I'd say that Nine-Ten represents the best meal we've had so far in SD. Looking forward to returning.
