   What an enormous disappointment! I booked the reservation a month in advance for my 50th birthday with my wife and my friends here in Palm Desert. We arrive and it feels like a sports bar with 4 large TV’s playing Sunday Night Football. It’s 5:30 PM, the restaurant is practically empty and the 19 year-old hostess directs us to the worst table in the room. We ask for a table next to the window and are told that those are “reserved for VIP’s” which evidently we are not. You idiots. We left the restaurant and had a lovely celebration elsewhere. You have no idea who we are, how we are connected here, and what the consequences of rejecting us are. Don’t worry, our non-VIP money works elsewhere and we are happy to spend it at a place where our business is appreciated!!

   Great place and amazing food experience. It has become ridiculously over priced now that is running over $250 a person. Better value else where.

   The service was the best part of our experience and we rated it as 3. It was spotty. We were there about 30 minutes before our drink order was taken. The food was unextraordinary, too sugary and uninspired. The ambiance was also a disappointment, being more of a sports bar than a contemporary high end Japanese restaurant. The cost was high based on all of the above.

   Amazing, as always. Our server may have been having a bad night, but she was still great. The server who took over for her was exceptional as were the hosts, bussers and expeditors.

   usually everything is great here. But an off night. Slow slow service, food came out cold (a hot dish - twice). Had to tell server forgot one dish.

   I recently dined at Nobu with my wife. Food was good, bartenders were good. My disappointment was with the choice of Japanese dishes in the food menu. Most of the choices were glorified appetizers charged at entree prices. If you come to Nobu on an empty stomach, you’ll be disappointed here. I was better off dining at Benihana, Hibachi or other Japanese restaurants. Sorry.

   All the best sushi beautifully prepared and served. Love the little silver sake pot dispensers. Great place to celebrate any birthday or event.
