Chef owner Marco Fregonese’s innovative take on classical, regional cooking begins with the finest, artisan ingredients and freshest, seasonal products. The fried squash blossoms were unbelievable, so make sure you ask what’s good on the specials. Ask for the Ragu sauce, it is in a class all by itself, making the pasta dishes stand out. They have wonderful wines by the glass if you don’t want one of the great bottles on the well chosen list.

It was my partners birthday so we wanted to go to dinner at Novita because it has special memories over the years. W e are never disappointed. The food is consistently good and the staff so professional My partner had the truffle pasta a favorite of his. And I had the lobster pasta. Both were exceptional The staff brought a birthday surprise dessert a light cheesecake with strawberries. A great end to a perfect meal

Periodically it felt as though the server forgot we were there. Otherwise the food was absolutely fantastic with an excellent wine selection. The desserts were absolutely delightful. The space also felt a little small for the amount of tables in there.

A neighborhood treasure. The food is first-rate. Delicious homemade pasta, fish and other dishes delighted our party of four. The zucchini flowers may have been the best I have ever had. The main dining room is elegant, furnished in neutrals, and very Italian. It was quite full at Sunday dinner and therefore somewhat noisy. It’s a little hard to hear if you are over a certain age, but the convivial atmosphere makes up for that! The rear dining room was quieter than the main room, though I think the service - though friendly- was a little less attentive. Nevertheless, the hosts and servers gave us the feeling of being in a family establishment, in the best way. I am eager to return!

This continues to be one of my favorite restaurants in NY. We had the swordfish, the truffle pasta and the snapper. All three were exceptional. Our waiter was attentive without being overbearing- a perfect balance. The atmosphere is warm and up beat but not too noisy. nothing could have been better.

This is one of my favorite places in NYC...been dining at Novita for at least 20 years. If you are just visiting- you'll find a quintessential NY dining experience. Enjoy.
