Located on Charleston's historic Broad Street, Oak Steakhouse is a classic American steakhouse. A classic array of both wet and dry aged Certified Angus® Beef are featured on the menu. Ingredients are sourced locally and regionally from sustainable farmers and fisherman to accent the steakhouse menu. Items including local oysters on the half-shell, Clammer Dave's caper clams and a daily fresh fish selection depending on the season. Other popular dishes include the whole fried lobster, goat.sheep.cow artisanal cheese plate, wedge of Kurios Farms bibb lettuce salad, the house-made pasta and vegetarian plate. The expansive and impressive wine program at Oak Steakhouse emphasizes big California Cabernets and Old World reds from Italy and Bordeaux with more than 200 wines by the bottle and 20 wines by the glass. The bar attracts a loyal, local following from nearby businesses and neighborhoods with its great cocktails and happy hour. Inside a historic bank building that dates back to 1848, Oak's stately setting features three floors with five distinct dining areas. From the OpenTable editors: In a historic bank building from 1848, Oak Steakhouse rises up three stories of leather booths, exposed brick, and cozy fireplaces. This is the place for seafood towers, Angus steaks, and bold Cabernets. It’s the heart of the Indigo Road group, helmed by James Beard semifinalist restaurateur Steve Palmer. There are now seven locations across the South, but none beat the original—Condé Nast Traveler calls it one of the best restaurants in Charleston, while others rank it among the best steakhouses in the country.

Overall a bit expensive but you expect that from a great steakhouse. We arrived early for our reservation and expected to just grab a drink at the bar but they were happy to accommodate an earlier sit down which was amazing!

The staff went above and beyond and made this milestone that much more memorable! Thank you thank you for such a sweet evening!

                                                                                              Visited for a birthday dinner booked an 8:30pm reservation. We were sat promptly at 8:30pm and placed orders for specialty cocktails that were great. Our Server Alex was awesome and very kind. But we did not receive our food until 9:50pm and the food was not hot when it arrived to the table. I’m not sure what happened but with a restaurant of this caliber this is a bit unacceptable. The flavor of the food was good but everything was cold to the point where the sauces on the plate were congealed. We were party for 2 so again I don’t understand how this happened.

It wasn't packed either but it was slow from salad delivery to main course. So we skipped desert to get back home. The young man who was working valet was nice. Good man to have out front made a good impression upon arrival and departure.

The service was spectacular and the ambiance was fabulous. My husband and I travel and eat at many fine restaurants but this was such a great experience that we had to right a great review.

                                                                                              The filter was cooked perfectly, medium rare. Nice flavorful char on the outside. The mushrooms and Mac and cheese, the perfect add on. It's exactly what we wanted for my wife's birthday.
