The Captain’s Table is a casual-upscale restaurant located on the Orange Coast College campus in Costa Mesa, California.

Both the kitchen and dining room are run by students from the Culinary Arts and Food and Beverage Management programs, serving a variety of cuisine types from a rotating weekly menu.

We are open for dinner every Thursday at 6:00. Please see our calendar for details regarding upcoming menu themes.

Reservations are required as seating is limited.

    We took our 16 year old granddaughter who is thinking about taking food service in college. We asked the server lots of questions which she very graciously answered. The service was very good and the dinner was excellent.

    It was great to see the young culinary students getting a chance to demonstrate their skills. The food was good and the enthusiasm was even better. I’m happy to support their efforts.

    Overall, the experience was good. This was our first time experiencing this Captain's Table. We all would like to experience this again and also try the dinner experience. One has to understand these are the students that are running this show. With little to no actual dining experience. You tell who has some experience and the ones that are new. The quality of the food was outstanding. We were there for the Moroccan food experience. The falafel pita sandwiches were a little too overpowering with garlic. Wish they would have substituted the lamb meat balls for the falafel since they were so good. Special beverages were tasty. Looking forward to come back when my schedule can an line the dining experience. A place for everyone to experience once.

    This is an excellent student run restaurant that simply is a wonderful experience, in addition to the outstanding food. It is very difficult to get reservations because it is so popular.

    I love attending cooking school restaurants! They are such a great deal for an amazing high end meal. I was dissapointed when the cooking school restaurant that I used to go to closed and seached for a new place to try. I am so delighted with Orange Coast College's Captain's Table. It did not dissapoint! The food was fresh and tasty. The presentation was incredible. I can't wait to come back again and again!

    The food is always delicious and there is a variety for the lunch theme (e.g., coastal cuisine). The staff is so professional and courteous. Great program. Thanks for sharing the experience with the community.

    The Culinary Students at Orange Coast Collage do an amazing job planning, cooking and serving dinner service during the semester. Thursday evening’s event was a Southwest theme. The Lamb Shank stole the show. So delicious. Thank you Pamela for taking such good care of us four! We ça look forward to the next one. Reservations necessary.
