Omakai Sushi is nestled in the historic downtown San Jose, one block away from the art walk. The restaurant includes a spacious cocktail bar, sushi bar where you can have an amazing Omakase experience , and an outdoor patio area by the fountain. Open for lunch & dinner, starting at 3:00 pm until 11:00pm. World Class sushi!!!!!! Having lived in Cabo for many years I had given up on sushi in Baja California ...., this is much better than Nobu or elsewhere. Having visited Tokyo, Kyoto, Kobe, and Osaka this last summer I visited many Michelin stared restaurants. OMAKAI sushi deserves its Michelin Book rating. Price was fair for the quality. Will return soon.

Fabulous omakase dinner at the sushi bar with the chef preparing the freshest of the day. The special menu is a bit too large so we took some of the sushi home to enjoy the next day.

Great food, one of the best Sushi in Cabo. However, The waitress was not professional at all, bad attitude, seemed she did not want to be there and rude.

While the food was delicious and the ambience is beautiful, I was disappointed by the unorganized service. Was not quite sure who our server was and had to repeat things when other people stop by the table. Once we were done eating nobody checked in to see if we wanted dessert or one more drink. A missed opportunity. For all of us. Finally asked for the bill after about 30 minutes and slipped out of there without anyone noticing.

OMAKAI was excellent. The quality of the fish was sublime. The gyoza stuffed with pork belly....delicious. We are big sashimi eaters, so the chefs choice sashimi, 5 fish, three pieces each was a great choice. The toro melted in your mouth. I had a hand roll, unagi with foie gras, also excellent. All the flavors came through on each bite. We had no room for desert, but since we'll be back I wasn't worried that I missed anything. The owner was very attentive and the service was excellent. It wasn't cheap, but what is these days. It wasn't anymore than I expected and we ate a good amount. Kudos to the kitchen, job well done. In San Jose, don't miss this fine dining experience

Our overall experience was amazing, the lighting was perfect, noise level low, great music. The waiters recommendations on the sakatini was nice. Very fresh nigiri sushi, especially the otoro, the Alaskan Salmon, and the unagi. Overall we had a lovely experience eating in the courtyard . We are definitely planning on visiting again.

The main course including sushi and ramen dishes were VERY good. The appetizers were so so. Good service. Location is a little off the beaten path but nothing dangerous.
