Robbie Lorraine has opened his long awaited permanent Only Food and Courses restaurant at the Cheshire Cheese pub! The hidden gem is based just off the Strand and is the evolution of Lorraine’s unique dining concept, initially launched in a 30ft steel container in Brixton.
First opening in 2021, the restaurant received rave reviews (from Jay Rayner no less) and became a firm favourite with restaurant go-ers.
Offering a modern twist on classic British food, Lorraine’s food plays on nostalgia from 80s and 90s pop culture, offering his lobster doughnuts, duck eclairs along with his take on ham, egg and chips, chicken and waffles, as well as millionaire’s shortbread.
In the intimate dinning room they only serve a blind six-course tasting menu and through out the day there are snacks available from the bar downstairs.

Sample 6 Course Tasting Menu: £75. Sittings (pre-booking only). Dinner 6pm-8pm and 8pm-10pm. We only serve tasting menus in our restaurant. Changing monthly, our delicious tasting menus are inspired by popular culture and culinary trends from the 80s and 90s, using the best seasonal produce available to create modern versions of things that we used to eat. This is all served in our restaurant in the upstairs dining room of the pub. Guests can get their chops around dishes such as Robbie's take on ham, egg and chips; beef and onions; prawn cocktail; cauliflower cheese; beetroot Bakewell and millionaires shortbread

Absolutely fantastic in every way. The food was superb and the service was spot on. The restaurant was very quiet at lunchtime and is currently a hidden gem but I doubt it'll stay this way.

If you’re after fine dining without the pretentious feel then this is the place for you! Chef Robbie Lorraine and his team were absolutely fantastic to us as we dined at the charming Cheshire Cheese Pub. We had followed Robbie on Great British Menu and were inspired to try out his food, and we weren’t disappointed. His food was truly delicious, and the lady at the front of house (who’s name we’ve sadly forgotten) was absolutely fantastic and perfectly attentive to our needs. We can’t wait to come back next month to try Robbie’s GBM menu and we will be recommending him to all our friends. Thank you for such a lovely and tasty evening! Jason & Megan

Best kept secret as of March 2023, Only Food and Courses have taken residency upstairs at the Cheshire Cheese! A six course revolving tasting menu prepared by the rising star chef Robbie Lorraine will be tough to get into once the word is out. At 75 quid for gourmet ingredients that pleasantly surprise the tongue and command your attention with his love of varying textures, Robbie's reimagined favorites from his childhood and daring new ideas are a treasure to experience in such a cosy venue. Do yourself a favor and opt for the blind tasting, much more fun to be surprised and have the dishes introduced.
