   Food was really good from appetisers to mains. Must try the Pistachio Tiramisu! Great service and the place was very fancy. Thanks for the birthday special greetings.

   The linguine with crab was absolutely to die for! I didn’t know what I was getting myself into by ordering it but I was going outside of my norm. And I’m so glad I did!! My daughter ended up taking half of mine because it was so good!

   Went mid afternoon so very quiet and would have more atmosphere at lunch or pre-theatre. They have a good set menu and very reasonably priced. Service is very good. Will definitely return.

   The restaurant itself is lovely - large and airy and the staff are friendly and welcoming - but that’s where the loveliness ended. Osteria Del Mare is advertised as being inspired by Forte dei Marme in northern Tuscany, a glamorous seaside resort on the Ligurian Sea. The restaurants there, even the most basic ones, would be offended by the idea that they are comparable. The food at Osteria Del Mare was just mediocre. I had what was advertised as a pasta with red mullet and bisque, but the mullet had gone missing. There were just two tiny pieces atop a small portion of pasta and a tiny assortment of flakes amongst the rest of the dish. The bisque tasted of tomato but lacked any depth. I tired to add some by liberally dousing the dish with a feeble chilli oil and some pepper, but then it tasted like a shop bought jar of sauce. The wine list is tiny and expensive - a middling Pinot Grigio is the cheapest bottle and comes in at £52. The restaurant was busy on a Saturday lunchtime. Presumably with first-timers like us with memories of wonderful Tuscan food who were about to be disappointed.

   Style over substance. Aesthetically really nice, and staff were attentive, but the food was VERY average... and was not worth the price at all. Disappointing.

   Lovely space and excellent service - but food poorly cooked. The starters were fridge cold and tasteless, the main course swordfish was utterly overcooked, the coffee was lukewarm. A shame as a beautiful space

   The food was amazing sadly the service let it down. We were seeking service attention all the time. The service was very slow and the restaurant was not even full. It was supposed to be a fats service, pre theatre menu, that took 3 hours. Luckily we didn’t have theatre tickets to go to. The food was very tasty and restaurant decoration and crockery beautiful.

   We went there for the Mother’s Day brunch which I thought was good value. Attentive and friendly service, and lovely live music. Sadly the food let it down, the mussels were lukewarm when they arrived so they were cold after a minute. Also the courses came out at the same time (except main) which meant we hardly had any space on the table. When the half lobster was served, it didn’t come with any utensils! When we asked for some we were told they didn’t have any (I don’t know if they had run out or this was standard) so the waitress took the food back to the kitchen so they could crack the shell. It isn’t as appetising when you receive a smashed lobster on a plate.. and the lobster itself was really small so my mum didn’t have much to eat. Also whilst the prosecco was bottomless, it wasn’t very cold. Overall we enjoyed it, but there’s definitely some kinks they could work on to really improve the experience.

    Overall a nice experience, Drinks was a little on the small size but starter and mains was decent portion and very tasty.
