   My food was wonderful, I had mussels as an appetizer. They were in a curry sauce which was different but gave them a nice bit of spice. I has swordfish for my main course and it was juicy and tender. The only negative of the whole experience was that my wife had the pork chop , which our waiter said was her favorite, and it was overcooked and dry. We had a dessert each and the restaurant comped my wife’s dessert. Would still go back there though, that wasn’t enough of an issue to never return.

   Great brunch date! Lemon mascarpone pancakes and chilaquiles were unbelievable. Service was fantastic and ambiance was priceless (sat outside with a view of the ocean).

   Service was as slow as could possibly be and still be open. Food was quite overpriced and lunch portions were tiny. It was so loud when we sat down that any conversation at our table was impossible. Several items on menu were not actually available and they were resistant to offering mocktail menu at dinner.

   The restaurant was busy and service and food were both excellent. I highly recommend the mussels and pork chop they were both delicious.

   We had a group of ladies and tried several dishes. Crab cakes were ok, the bao buns were tasty with a tangy sauce. The beets were delicious and sadly, the best dish we had. The lobster pasta was fine, there was a decent amount of meat. 2 of us had the halibut and were very excited because it’s a favorite fish. Unfortunately, it was sent back twice for being so overcooked to be inedible. They hard sear and then oven finish the meat, but both times the chef couldn’t get the timing right, nor did anyone bother to check before sending the dish back out. It was literally hard all the way through and when I cut into the 3rd fish, I gave up. Overall, the whole experience was disappointing, especially when this is listed as a highly rated restaurant. The manager took the fish off the bill and sent some desserts - the cheesecake mousse was very tasty; we appreciated the gesture. The staff was nice and hopefully this was just a really off night, but the place feels like it’s stuck in the 90’s.

   Came for my birthday, was wanting to start with the aguachiles but the waiter informed us they were out. Started with the crab cakes, beet salad, and steak tartare. Loved the crab cakes and beet salad. Steak tartare was eh. For entrees we had the Sunday prime rib, the lobster orecchiette pasta, jidori chicken, and the halibut. The halibut was amazing. Was disappointed with the lobster orecchiette and wanted to return it for another halibut but didn’t. The prime rib was really good as was the chicken. Was given a complementary dessert for my birthday which was 2 scoops of coffee ice cream with 2 mini macarons. Enjoyed a bottle of Daou Chardonnay and a blackberry basil margarita which was well executed. We expected the “pricey” which was why we came on a special occasion. Will definitely come back for another special occasion and hopefully they’ll have the aguachiles. We also discussed ordering the Henry’s hammer as it makes sense price wise to pay the $300 to feed 4-5 of us since that’s what we basically paid with all that we ordered.

   Server was great and did warn us about longer wait time for kitchen Front desk check in staff not the most cordial. Reservation for 645 and we got there at six and asked if could be seated early for which they said not possible . Many open tables and when we came back sat at one of the many open tables that were there when we came at 6. Food was good but not outstanding . Overall good for hotel restaurant but nothing that would bring me back other than the on site convenience

   We sat outside on a cool Saturday night. We asked for blankets and were told that there weren't any available. We later learned that there were in fact blankets available. Any special request that we made was not fulfilled, and the service, including delivery of the food, was slow. There was a wedding going on inside which may have contributed to the slow service. The food was great, but be warned if you go here on a weekend evening.

    This is our first visit to Ox and Ocean since the renovation of this hotel. The hotel hosts a lot of conferences and retreats and so the restaurant may be full of people from a conference, though the night we were there it was mostly empty but still uncomfortably noisy from the bar and events outside. The decor tends to reflect and amplify the noise and really isn't appropriate for a fine-dining restaurant, which O&O aspires to be. The food was inventive and well prepared. Service was also attentive. The restaurant might do better if it were not the only food outlet for dinner at the hotel so trying to be everything from a coffee shop to a fine dining establishment. (There is an outdoor trailer for breakfast and lunch.)
