Paya is an exuberant, island-inspired restaurant and bar located on Miami’s South Beach founded by Mohamed “Mo” Alkassar and Chef Niven Patel, the duo behind FEAL Hospitality. It is a platform for Chef Niven Patel to pay homage to the insular cuisines of the Caribbean, Southeast Asia, and Spain’s islands, where he and Mo have either worked or visited extensively. Chef Niven’s dishes incorporate ingredients he grows at Rancho Patel, complemented by vibrant wines and tropical, farm to glass cocktails.

The restaurant features 56 dining room seats, 25 bar seats, and 8 raw bar seats, with a gorgeous display of fresh seafood. Expect to jam to some Manu Chao style music while basking in the vibrant island vibes and flavors. South Beach has been home to Mo since he moved to Miami in 2016, and Paya is his thank-you to the community that supported him through his journey.

Paya is beautiful and the team was so nice! We sat inside in booth seating and were able to take in the sights of the beautiful restaurant. The service staff was knowledgeable of the menu and made great recommendations. The catch of the day with the coconut curry sauce was to die for and we really enjoyed the jerk eggplant crostini— everything was so flavorful! On the way out we peeked at the outside searing area which was lovely. Paya is a new comber and a must try!

This place is a gem in overhyped, overcrowded and over-attituded Miami Beach. The location is great to get to (near everything and yet not in the middle) and the ambiance is a respite from it all. Fantastic and meal appropriate music plays, one can chat, have a romantic date, hang out with family. The decor is uber-chic, not a shred of the cheap sparkling stuff from elsewhere. Now, let's talk about the food, this is where the 'rubber meets the road': simply outstanding! Every dish was a winner - we did the Chef's tasting and wanted more of every dish. We had trouble rating each offering as they were so good. The food has a definite Latin slant but manages to do so with so much flavor and yet nothing that over powers! The north Florida oysters were incredibly fresh, the cobia delicious, the steak amazing, grilled cauliflower to die for! The cocktails were also perfection. Dessert made us break our no-sweets promise. Of course all this deliciousness can be easily forgotten if service fails to deliver - no such thing here. Our table team was absolutely on-point and the manager visited each and every table just to make sure everything was satisfactory. And this is how its done folks... Miami Beach/Miami, take note!

This was our second time dining at Paya, and once again, we were thoroughly impressed. The garden area provided a serene and charming atmosphere, perfect for a relaxed meal. The highlight of our evening was the expertly prepared pork chop and the tender skirt steak. We finished off our meal getting reacquainted with the rum cake and our first taste of the milk chocolaty mousse. Special thanks to Paya's extraordinary hostess, V., who made our evening even more memorable with her warm hospitality and attentive service. Paya has truly become a favorite!

Wonderful experience at Paya tonight. We were seated outside on the patio which had a nice ambiance. We were greeted warmly when we checked in and our hostess Vicky was friendly and gave us a beautiful table. Our server Jaime was informative and gave us excellent suggestions. Some stand outs are the truffle Brie sourdough melt with mango jam and the fried chicken. Also recommend the daily catch with lemongrass basil sauce and curry lamb. It’s wonderful to have excellent service, food and hospitality. Definitely going back
