With a casual atmosphere and a classic menu, Petit Robert Bistro feels like an authentic French bistro. Established in 2005 in the South End of Boston, Petit Robert Bistro has become an institution in the neighborhood! Our patio is one of the most beautiful and comfortable places in Boston. Our Chef Chris Ipus HAS created an authentic and very interesting menu that changes every season.

This definitely qualifies as a Neighborhood Gem. Small, friendly, excellent food. When it gets full it gets quite noisy. The tables are very close together--kind of like Manhattan!

Really loved the food, the warm lighting and cozy atmosphere, and the fact that they’ve been around for so long. Had the French onion soup, steak frites and beef bourguinon. Also really loved the baguette. Will be back.

We needed to eat early to get to a concert, so we were delighted that Petit Robert opened for dinner in time to do that. My friend had simple broiled salmon. I ate the sole with 8? cherry stone clams, and lemon flavoring the "gravy" requiring the good French bread to mop up every drop. The butter for that bread was perfect spreading temperature, Our servers were welcoming and and accurate. Both arriving and leaving all (ALL) the staff I walked by going through part of the kitchen and through the two dining areas, linking or dividing the two indoor areas—and I learned the restaurant has a pleasant outside area giving enjoyable access both to the superior food and the bright parade of vivid neighborhood street life. My sole was the smallest entree chosen for time and not being able to take and leftovers to the concert. I am positive I'll go to back to this restaurant soon. It was a delight in every category, a convenient location close to two areas I go to, AND the food was delicious and interesting! TRY IT

Great small bistro in the South End. We ate a nice meal before a concert at Symphony Hall. Beef Bourgogne was fabulous. Salmon over orzo equally delicious. Save room to share a chocolate mousse and savor a well-made espresso. Will return!
