   First time trying this new restaurant. The experience was great. Even though it was on NYE, the restaurant was very well organized and managed. The atmosphere was fun and enjoyable. The services from the hosts and the waiter were professional and personal. Food were delicious. We totally enjoyed the experience and food, and we will definitely be back. Thank you.

   Another wonderful dinner at Portofino on New Year's Eve. Despite a full house, BJ provided a great old fashioned when we entered and Joe was with us every step of the meal. My wife loved the manicotti and seafood special and the short rib special with risotto was outstanding. Oh, and I almost forgot the marvelous lentil soup. Portofino continues to be one of the best; if not the outright best; run restaurant in Myrtle Beach. The food is always hot, always tasty and the staff is always professional.

   First time here and was a gem in the rough meaning without visiting or a good reputation we would not have gone. Was a very pleasant surprise. A little on the pricey side but not excessive for resort prices

   Always fantastic! We tried the mussels and they were fantastic...and we loved the chicken parmesan and pasta....they had potato leek soup and that was also delicious....we always drink the Super Tuscan Ripogrande red wine and it is super....the service is 5 star....we love it there.... Giovanni and Ilma make the place very warm and inviting....

   The food was not very good. My pasta had so much pepper on it I couldn’t eat it and it was very dry.

   I am very surprised by your comments. We have 2 dishes with fresh black pepper: one is "cacio e pepe", which means cheese and pepper, it is always very creamy, as made with heavy cream. The other one is Carbonara, which also requires a generous sprinkle of pepper but it is not made with heavy cream, and it is not supposed to be creamy. Not sure which one you had, I can assure both follow the most authentic Italian recipes and are prepared exactly as they should. Having said that, if you had mentioned to your waiter we would have gladly prepared a new dish without extra pepper.

    Everything was perfect… the bruschetta, butternut squash soup, Super Tuscan wine, chicken Parmesan was crispy and delicious! And tartufo and carrot cake were superb💞
